Chapter 22// Blue

"Just turn the boat around, Cameron!" I throw my arms up in the air as I watch the shore gradually shrink. "Why the hell are you doing all of this?"

His pupils are dilated, telling me he's as high as a kite. I left early this morning because I wanted to surprise Apollo on a boat trip. Just for the two of us. Then Cameron came along and practically hijacked the boat. He took my phone and told me to message Apollo. I tried to take the opportunity and ask for help, but before I could send the full message, Cameron had taken my phone and thrown it overboard.

"Cameron!"

"Shut the fuck up!" He exclaims at me and I stumble back a little as he stops the boat abruptly. "Just shut up, Blue! For once in your fucking life, just shut the fuck up!" My heart races at his rising temper.

Cameron moves around frantically, stopping in front of a box. He lifts the lid and rummages through it until he finds what he's looking for. A knife, some rope, and a gun. My heart drops and my eyes water.

"Cameron," I whisper shakily, looking around for anything that I can use to defend myself against him. "You're not thinking straight. What are you even trying to do?"

Cameron's eyes close and his nostrils flare as he inhales slowly. Then he aims the gun at me and I almost stop breathing.

"You're going to do what I say, Blue." Cameron warns, stepping closer and closer towards me until we're chest to chest. I look into his green eyes and plead with him to stop. "I have no intentions of letting you love Apollo. I have no intentions at all. I warned you what would happen. Didn't I? What did I say, Blue?"

"You said you'd hurt him," I say in a low voice and look away from him.

My breathing hitches when I feel the coolness of the gun press against the skin of my stomach. Cameron rests his forehead against mine and my whole body stills at the proximity of us both.

"I did say that, didn't I, baby? But, I've changed my mind." He opens his eyes and grins, looking all sorts of crazy. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. What does that even mean? He won't hurt Apollo? Then who is he going to hurt? "I'm going to hurt the both of us. Me and you."

He's lost his mind!

"Fuck you!" I hiss, knocking the gun out of his hand, and rush into a small cabin on the boat and lock myself inside. I run my hands down my face and breath heavily. "Fuck." I panic.

Three hard knocks on the door have me almost jumping out of my skin and the light scrapes on the door has my eyes widening.

"Come on, baby, come out. Don't make this any harder for yourself." Cameron taunts. "I'll give you two minutes, then I'm going to stop playing nice, Blue." A small whimper leaves my mouth. I have no idea what I'm going to do right now, and I'm worried that I could be dead in the next hour.

I'm going to hurt both of us. Me and you.

"One minute."

I've put myself in the worst position. What good did I think was going to come from locking myself in a room?

I scream in terror as a bullet shoots through the door and skims right past my head. Cameron punches his hand through the wood until he can reach his hand round and unlock the door himself. His hand twists the handle, and the door is aggressively shoved open, slamming against the wall.

"No." I whimper, shaking my head and stepping back, trying to increase the distance between him and me.

"I'm not in the mood for this." He rolls his eyes and storms over to me, grabbing my arms. I resist against him as he pulls me back onto the deck. I fight against him as he tries to tie the rope around my body, but it's no use when he holds the gun against my temple.
