Alex's POV:

A month later, the pack doctor told us that the baby would live. Kelly and I prepared the paperwork for Amy and Cayden, who were excited and nervous at becoming parents. They signed the papers and were officially, the baby boy's adoptive parents. "So, have you thought of a name for your new son?" Kelly asked. Amy looked at Cayden then back at us and nodded. "Yes, we think he should be called..Altan. It means, red dawn, or second chance." "I think that's a great name." I smiled. Just then, the phone rang. I answered it. I smiled. "Yes, sir. Thank you. We'll be right over." I hung up the phone and received a few questioning looks. "The baby is ready to come home." I announced. "Yes! Let's go, Cayden!" Amy exclaimed. She took Cayden's hand and they rushed out of the pack house. I chuckled and went with Kelly to the hospital. We wanted to be there when they welcomed the little one into their family. "Oh! One second! I almost forgot something!" Amy rushed back into the pack house, just as we were getting ready to start the car. In a moment, she returned with a small bag. "Lia and I went shopping the other day and got him some clothes. And, a little something special." she smiled and pulled out a cute little teddy bear. It was a light brown with a brown nose and black eyes. "He's sure to love it, Amy!" Cayden replied, as she put it back into the bag. As soon as she had buckled up, we headed to the pack hospital. When we got there, the doctor was waiting for us. "Ah. Hello, Alpha, Luna. Hello, Gamma, Miss Amy. We shall get the baby now for you." he nodded towards a nurse, who went to get the baby boy. "Is there anything we need to know, doctor?" Cayden asked. "Well, there is a possibility the boy is..completely deaf. He was born so premature and sick, we think it took his hearing." "I see.." Cayden mused. "We can still give him a home, right, Cayden?" "Of course, Amy. He needs a home and..I think you would be the perfect mother for him." Cayden kissed her. She smiled. "And I think, you'd be a perfect father.." At that moment, the nurse came in, holding a baby wrapped in a blue blanket. "Oh! He's wonderful," Amy breathed. "Can I hold him?" The nurse smiled and nodded. She handed him to Amy. The baby boy cooed happily in her arms. "Cayden, look! He's smiling!" Cayden came over to look over his mate's shoulder. I put my arm around Kelly. "Remember when that was us? Going nuts over Quinn when she smiled?" I asked. Kelly nodded, smiling at the memory. After we had filled out the necessary paperwork for Altan to be released, we all headed home. We went inside and Amy and Cayden went upstairs to their room. I think they wanted to change him. When they came down, Little Altan was still wrapped in his blanket, but he was wearing a little white shirt, a striped blue and white hat, and he was holding the teddy. He was fast asleep in Cayden's arms. "Awww!" Malia exclaimed. "He's sooo cute!" "Thank you, Malia." Amy smiled. "Can I hold him?" Genova asked. Amy nodded and Cayden handed her the baby. Genova looked happy. "He's an awesome baby, Cayden, Amy. Congrats," Micah replied. "Thanks, Micah. We think he's pretty special too." Cayden replied. "Well, we have lunch ready. If your hungry," Lia stated. We nodded and followed her into the kitchen. "Here, Amy. I got some baby formula for him." she handed Amy a baby bottle. "Thank you, Lia." she smiled and fed Altan. After lunch Quinn and Bobby listened to Cayden read them a story. Amy sat beside him with Altan, bouncing him on her lap. He seemed to be having a lot of fun. Cayden and Amy will be great parents.

*A few weeks later*

Amy's POV:

I never expected to become a mom this way. Or so soon after my wedding. But, I was happy. And so was Cayden. People may think we were out of our minds adopting our enemy's baby. But, the baby didn't do anything to us and he needed a loving home. A good home. And, Cayden and I were ready and willing. And, besides all the sleepless nights and messy diapers, parenting is kinda fun. I love being a mom, I really do. We've figured out that Altan is deaf. Kelly dropped a glass bowl when I was in the kitchen feeding him the other day. He didn't flinch or anything. He just continued eating. And, Quinn fell out of bed just last night. Her room is right near mine and Cayden's. Altan didn't even move. He just continued to sleep. Quinn was just fine, though a little shaken. Even though he is deaf, he has definitely brought joy into our lives. Right now, I just got done changing him. Then, I put him into his crib for a nap and went back to my book I was reading. It was a book on sign language. So when he gets older, I'll be able to teach him to speak with his hands and be able to understand him. Cayden is reading the same book too, but he doesn't have much time to read. With him having spent so much time away from his work as Gamma, he has a lot of catching up to do. I admit, I don't see him very much and I do miss him, but it's ok. I mean, he has important work to do. And I do have the girls to keep me company. And I have Quinn, Bobby, and Altan. So, even though I don't see him much, I have plenty to keep me busy. And eventually, he'll get caught up and we can spend more time together. "AHH!" I suddenly heard an exclamation. I took Altan out of his crib and went down to see what was going on. Outside, I saw a man and Malia. The man was holding Malia. They were looking into each other's eyes. "What's going on here?!" Kelly exclaimed, joining me on the porch. Malia and the man let go of each other and faced us. "Who are you, sir?" she asked. he bowed his head in respect, realizing she must be the Luna. "I am Noah. Son of Alpha James of the Shining Star Pack." "I see. Alex did tell me we had a meeting with you today." She replied. "May I ask, why you were holding each other like that, though?" The two blushed. "Well, Kelly, I wasn't exactly looking where I was going and I tripped. But he caught me..and.." "And in a very unusual way, I found my mate.." Noah told Kelly. "Wait, Malia, he's your mate? Congratulations!" I said. Kelly also congratulated the two and introduced me as the Gamma's mate. "Please, come inside. I'll tell Alex your here." "Thank you, Luna Kelly." He said, holding Malia's hand. "What is going on here?! Why is this man holding my sister's hand?!" Herold and Micah stood in front of us, their arms crossed. "Oh! Micah, Herold, this is Noah. The son of the Alpha of the Shining Star Pack." Malia introduced. "That's fine, sis, but that doesn't answer our question." Herold declared. "I'm her mate, sir. I assume you are her brothers?" Herold and Micah's eyes were wide. "EEEEEK!! My big sister found her mate!" Genova came running over from behind Micah and hugged Malia. "It's nice to meet you. I'm her younger sister, Genova, Micah's twin." "It's nice to meet you too, Miss Genova. I am Noah. The son of the Alpha of the Shining Star Pack." At that moment, Alex came out of his office and greeted him. "Hello, Noah. Good to see you. Shall we go in my office and talk?" he smiled. "Yes sir, is it alright if my mate, Malia join us?" Alex look stunned but nodded. "Kelly, would you join us please?" Kelly nodded and walked into the office with Malia and Noah. "Well, that's sad." Micah commented. "Huh?" I looked at him, quite confused. "I thought I'd find my mate first. Or even Herold." "Oh, don't be so mean, Micah!" Genova scolded. Micah shrugged. While they continued their discussion, I went upstairs to put Altan back to bed. I took him with me because I didn't wanna leave my baby alone. "I guess Genova can get pretty excited sometimes." Jill remarked after I had sat back down. "I guess so. But, I can understand why she's excited. Her big sister just found her mate." Jill nodded and I began to read.
