Chapter 6

Cayden's POV:

Alex was tense as he spoke. He looked ready to burst. "What do you mean? Why are they threatening war?" Kelly asked, trying her best to keep him calm. "Ruby had her 'luna' put in prison. So now, Ruby has full control of the pack. She wants power." "What do you mean Ruby had her luna put in prison??" Lia asked. "Ruby does have her mate, but he is luna instead of alpha. So, she's leader of the pack." "That's not very good for the pack.." Zack stated. "I know. But she is..stubborn. She isn't a very good leader at all. Even her beta is bad. And she doesn't have a gamma." "Alex, what do you plan to do?" Amy asked. "All the women and children will be sent to a place where humans live. It is for their own safety." "Ruby will find them.." Amy said. "What do you mean? How do you know, Amy?" I asked. She shook her head. "I don't know..I just know." Alex looked thoughtful. "Zack, do you have any ideas?" He nodded. "I have one. But it's an old on from a few years ago when Amy had that nightmare about an extinct pack. And I know Cayden didn't like it." Amy put her hand in my shoulder and looked at me. "It'll be fine." she told me in a calming voice. I bit my tongue and listened quietly to the conversation. "Your sure that's a good idea?" Alex asked. "It might be our only option. If Ruby will know about us sending our women and children away, then I don't really see any other options." Alex looked at Kelly. "It'll be fine..I will stay up here and take care of Quinn." "Alright, Kelly. Sis, I want you to stay with Kelly. Amy-" "I'd like to come." she interrupted. "What?! No way, Amy! You don't know who we're dealing with!!" I shouted. "Cayden, I'll be fine. First of all, whoever we are going to see will be behind bars. And, I'll be with you, Alex, and Zack." she told me. "Fine..but what I said that day still counts. "Anythings happens, your dead Zack." Zack gulped. "O-ok.." he stammered. "Let's go. The sooner we go, the sooner we can come back. I won't be long, Kelly." Alex held Kelly in his arms. Just then Quinn came running into the room. "Eww! Mommy, daddy! That's gross!" We all laughed. "Alright, kiddo. How about we go get you a snack?" Lia suggested. "Yay!" Little Quinn ran right out of the room dragging her aunt with her. "I'll see you later." Kelly smiled and walked away. "Well, we'd better head down to the prison." Alex stated. I growled. I didn't want my mate going with us to see this..this...witch!

*Flashback*

"Cayden, we have an intruder in the pack. Will you please take some of the warrior wolves and check it out?" "Yes, Alpha." I grinned as he glared at me. Alex had just become Alpha a couple months ago And Zack and I were still teasing him. He did not like it when we called him Alpha, or Alpha Alex. His excuse was, "You are my best friends! You don't have to address me like that!" Zack and I laughed as I walked out of the office. Zack would usually do this, but ever since their mates were kidnapped, they've been busy nonstop. Trying to find them. Right now they are following up on a lead. Usually we'd find intruders at the edge of the pack, but this time, she had ventured farther into the pack. I stopped short suddenly, making the warrior wolves behind me, bump into me. The intruder was laughing evily with two girls beside her, covered in blood. "Ready to die?" she asked in an icy tone, as she produced a syringe. I immediately recognized what was inside it. Silver. Silver is almost as deadly to were-wolves as wolfsbane! "Alex, mind-link Zack and get down here now. Your sister and mate are here with the intruder! About to get a syringe full of silver injected into them!" I mind linked Alex. "WHAT?! I'M ON MY WAY!!" His voice screamed in my head. Within a couple minutes, Alex and Zack had run up to me. They looked ready to shift and rip the stranger apart. "UGH! YOU LITTLE BRATS RUINED MY PLAN! I WAS GOING TO RULE THIS PACK AND EVERY PACK THAT EXISTS!" the stranger screamed at the top of her lungs. "Well, no matter. I can still inject your mates and make you suffer!" And with that, she stuck the needle inside Kelly's arm. Kelly screamed in pain as the woman flashed an evil smile. "That's.IT!! NO ONE HURTS MY MATE AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!! NO ONE!!" Alex shouted even louder than the woman had yelled. I could tell his wolf had taken control. This was not going to be pretty. He shifted and ran straight for her. He knocked her down and clawed at her continuously. "Alex! Stop!" Lia yelled. Alex's wolf looked at her and then back at the woman. He swiped his claws at her again and was about to go for her throat when a weak voice was heard. "A-Alex..please..s-stop..T-this is'nt y-you." It was Kelly. She was lying on the ground very weak from the silver injection, but hadn't fallen unconscious. Alex's wolf looked at her. His eyes glistening with tears. "W-Wolfie..p-please give..c-control b-back to Alex.." Wolfie was his wolf's name. It may be kinda funny, but that's what Alex told Zack and me what he was called when he shifted. Lia and Kelly were away at the time he first shifted. He looked back at the woman, growled warningly, and stepped off of her. He shifted and ordered her to be taken care of. He then ran up to Kelly. "Kelly! Are you alright?! Please don't leave me!" he exclaimed. You may think it's a little dumb to say "Please don't leave me." But, like I said earlier, silver is almost as deadly as wolfsbane. So, it's sadly normal for a wolf to die from it. And even if they do not die, which is rare, they suffer permanent damage. He picked her up carefully and rushed to the pack hospital. We were there for hours and hours. It was killing Alex. Finally, a doctor came in. "How is she?!" Alex asked before he could say anything. "She will be alright, Alpha Alex. She was extremely lucky. We do not think she will suffer any permanent damage." He smiled. Before Alex could say anything, he chuckled and said we could go see her. We rushed in her room. We were all extremely grateful that she would be alright and wouldn't suffer any permanent damage. We held on to that witch. Alex had her injuries treated at Kelly's request, not that he enjoyed it. But he like seeing his Luna happy, so he did it. We kept her in prison and I never thought I would ever see her again..

*End of Flashback*

Now....I never thought I would see that evil witch again..The only reason we were going down there, was because we knew she was a witch and might be useful in fighting this war..and possibly help Amy..I didn't want her to go because I saw with my own eyes what that woman was capable of. But, unfortunately, Alex allowed he to accompany us. I will personally see to it, that if something happens to my mate, that not only Zack will be dead, but also that evil witch!
