"What's wrong? You look gloomy." Minhyuk moved to brush some of Jungkook's hair behind his ear before thinking better of it, retracting his hand and staring at it for a beat before returning his gaze to Jungkook.
Jungkook stared at his wine glass and said, "I don't want to talk about it. Something stupid happened."
Minhyuk scoffed. He knew Jungkook by now. He knew whenever Jungkook was lost in his feelings, which was more often than not. "It can't be stupid if it's upsetting you this much. Come on, what's bothering you?"
Jungkook faced him as he pulled Minhyuk closer to him. "Can you do something? I just want to take my mind off things—"
Minhyuk slowly pushed him away, his heart aching. He couldn't do this again, he wouldn't. "No."
"Why?"
Minhyuk sighed. "You should talk to whoever it is that you've always thought about. I always noticed that whenever we hang out, you're always spacing out. I told you from text that I have something to say to you right? I'm planning on ending what we have going on."
Jungkook looked away.
Minhyuk smiled dejectedly. "I don't want to fall in love deeper with you, because I can tell that you're already in love with someone else. I don't want you to keep using me. At first, it was mutual. You were using me to forget and I was using you for pleasure. But things started to develop beyond my control and I just—I can't do this anymore. I hope you understand."
The freshman moved to open his mouth to argue, but Minhyuk cut him off.
"I don't want to hear it. I don't want to know. You're younger, new to the area. I knew this when I started this. Just don't do this to anyone else. You're hurting everyone—me, the person you're thinking about, and you. None of us deserve this, so I'm putting an end to it. I have no idea what's going on with you, but this isn't healthy. You're falling into depression, Jungkook. This needs to stop before you're stuck, before it gets to a point where it's unredeemable."
Jungkook went to take another sip, but Minhyuk took the glass from him.
"Go home, fix everything, and be honest on what you truly feel about that someone. This is going to be the last time we're going to meet. I already deleted your number. I'll be leaving the town today. Thank you for the memories, Jungkook."
Minhyuk paid for their drinks, and he left the bar.
Jungkook left afterwards, hands shoved in his pockets as he glared at any and everyone who got in his way. He was pissed, confused, and extremely disappointed. The teen couldn't wrap his head around anything going on and his rage continued to grow and fester, causing him so angrily kick the trash can in an alleyway, wondering if he should try another bar. He wouldn't get with anyone else. He just wanted to drink.
I don't know what to do anymore...
He looked at his fake ID, contemplating. There was a bar close by and he didn't get to drink as much as he planned. However, just as he was about to set course for the bar, his phone started to blow up.
