Tough Guy Trials

Ash invited me to go to Ula' ula island so that he can take the island trials with Nanu, so I flew with Chompy while Ash took a boat to get there.

Valarie: Ash!! How can you be certain that the Island Kahuna will even let you take on the island trial?
Ash: I know the Kahuna will let me, I just know it. Say Val, how come you aren't taking the island trial?
Valarie: Well, I didn't tell you this but... I've been here before when I was little. I took the island trials and well, I managed to successfully pass, it's just been so long that I forgot about it
Ash: No way!! Is there anything you haven't done behind my back?!
Valarie: [chuckles] My secret~
Ash: [pout] You're no fun
Rotom: Ahoy, Ash! Valarie! Out there! You can see Ula'ula Island
Valarie: Whoa

We all admired the view of Ula'ula island, and remembered something Professor Kukui said to all of us during class.

~ Flashback ~

Kukui: To establish a Pokémon League for trainers here in the Alola region to enter, that is my goal. That is my dream!
Ash: Ah! A Pokémon League in the Alola! Hear that, buddy? A Pokémon League here! Cool, Huh?
Pikachu: Pika
Poipole: Poipole!
Ash: We'll have a great time
Valarie: This could be our one and only chance, Rocky!!
Rocky [Lycanroc]: Lycan!
Kiawe: Mark my words!!! We're going to win the Pokémon League, no matter what!
Marowak: Mar!!!
Turtonator: Turto!!!
Kiawe: We're getting fired up!

[Marowak and Turtonator growls]

Mallow: Wow, they sure are
Lana: I think they got inspired by their Gym battle in Kanto
Valarie: Who wouldn't
Ash: Kiawe's not the only one getting fired up!!
Pikachu: Pika! Pika!!
Lillie: Ash and Pikachu are excited too
Ash/Kiawe: No, I'm going to win!!!
Valarie: Oh brother. Winter, if you may

Winter understood the mission and froze Ash and Kiawe in placed, that sure cooled their firefly spirits.

Valarie: I wouldn't be so sure about you two winning, because this gal is gonna win. So you better buckle up boys, cause me and my team are gonna beat the both of you
Kukui: That's the spirit, you three! This is the first time anyone has tried to create a league in Alola and that's why I'd like you all to give me a helping hand!
Kukui's Students: YEAH!!!!
Rotom: I'll support you with my vast amount of knowledge as a Pokédex
Kukui: Perfect! I'm counting on you all!

~ Flashback Ends ~

Ash: Let's give the grand trial on Ula'ula Island everything we've got!
Pikachu: Pika!!

[Pokemon trills and gibber]

We made it to shore while Chompy landed on the ground, I hopped off and brought him back into his poke ball. I then brought out Rocky, Winter, and Poipole, when suddenly I was tackled by Cuddles giving me a cuddle in the face.

Valarie: [muffles] [removes Cuddles] Pah!! Cuddles!! As much as I love you, but this isn't the time to cuddle right now

Cuddles didn't listen and instead jumped out of my grip and hugged the top of my head, so I just gave up and let Cuddles stay on top of my head.

Valarie: Ugh... Come on, Ash. Let's go find the Island Kahuna, from what I know my dad said he's a cop that he acquaintances to. His name is Nanu, but I don't know what he looks like. It's been a while since I've met any of my dad's cop friends
Ash: Aww, what a bummer. Oh, we're here at the Police Station, maybe someone knows who Nanu is! Alola! Island Kahuna Nanu!! Hello, Nanu?! Alola!
???: Eh?
