That night, Alaisa had a dream; a good dream. She had a dream about the hard times in her life. To her it was not good, but in the real world you have to face uncomfortable topics, and conversations, and situations. Alaisa just couldn't take it. She's been through so much and now it's time for the emotion to flow. She woke up in despair. She didn't have anything to live for...except baby Kielen. His name is Kielen Byers. Baby Kielen I wondered, why would i name him that. I just took a moment and I breathed. I told myself his name is Kielen because God gave me the word and touched me with Kielen. Kielen is a miracle name to me. Kielen is a French name. It just touched me.

The next day, I went back to the hospital to put a name on my baby's birth certificate. After i left the hospital they told me to go to the post office and write the name there. I couldn't call my mother and tell her i had the baby's name because i didn't have a working phone; she payed my phone bill. I used the hospital phone and told her. We were working on our mother/daughter relationship, and it has been coming along just fine. She was there in the ER, when I had Kielen, and she is still here now. I love my mother with all my heart, but I have an attitude problem, and so does she; that's where i get it from. My father has no attitude problem, except for when he walked out of the life with me and my mom. I was only 8 years old, he didn't see me graduate middle school, have Kielen, or even see me trying to get my GED. It was okay, I'm used to people leaving my life.

GED class was today, and I needed a babysitter for Kielen. He is only 1 month old now, and he cries a lot. I can't bring him with me. I called my mom from the post office to meet me at where i was at and she said she will "be here in a jiffy". Momma came very fast, and Kielen didn't even cry when she took him. I got a ride from her to HCC &GED. I was pleased by her appearance and actions.

"You know Alaisa? you are on the right path in life, and i respect that. This is the reason I am willing to do things for you. You are learning to become a woman and an adult. You are 20 now, working on school, has your own place, and is paying taxes all at the same time".

"Thank you momma, that really means a lot"

"You deserve it, it's the truth"

"Yeah" I said with a snobbish grin.
