Its night, and Dravon and Dollie are asleep. I am sitting at the table, staring at the book Kasandra left for me. Why would she leave me a blank book? I place my thumb in the lock and it bursts open, just like the first time. I slowly and gently slide my fingers on my right hand down the first page. Suddenly words begin to appear, letter by letter as if somebody where writing them in. After a minute or so it stops, and then I begin to read.
'Hi Ryan, I know this must be hard for you, you know with the new world and the whole thing with magic and all. I wish you were here now, but you are not yet ready. You must train hard first. That dream you've been having, the one with the war, it is real. It will happen, and its not far off. Somehow we have to try to prevent it, but I still haven't a clue to why there will be a war. If this war does occur it could destroy everything. Lord Karda is forming an army somewhere, believe it or not I am part of it, but it is not what you think. I am here to gather information about his army and how to stop it. I can't tell you where I am, or where Lord Karda is... not yet. All I have to say right now is train hard, learn many helpful attacks and spells, and don't tell ANYBODY about this book. Not even Dravon, don't say things are beginning to appear in it or anything about Lord Karda, at least not yet. I'll talk to you soon.'
'- Kasandra'
I turn the page and try to make more words appear but nothing happens. I guess words only appear when she wants them to. I close the book and the lock clicks itself back into place. I stand up and walk around, looking at the books. As I am looking I stop when I see a book that says 'Demons' on the spine. I slide it out and set it on the table, then continue to look. One says 'Spells'. I take it and sit down at the table. I skim through the pages and stop when I see 'Fire attack', the dirctions just said 'think of fire'. I hold my hand out and point it towards the ceiling, shut my eyes and begin. It's harder to try to get a spell to work than I thought, Dravon just said 'think it'. Really it's not that simple, when you're a magician your mind can't just think it, you have to practice a spell many, many times to eventually get it right. Then you have to master it to make it more powerful. Out of the darkness of my mind, with my eyes still closed a flame erupts, I open my eyes and there is a ball of fire floating about three inches above my right hand. I stand up and throw it as if I was throwing a baseball. It shoots upwards and flies right through the skylight, creating a perfect circle and only a few little pieces of glass fall because it was flying so quickly. I sit back down and continue to read, ' to perform different fire attacks do different motions with your arms as you think. Now try thinking of fire in rope form'. As I stand up I hold my hand behind my head, hand flat like I am about to karate chop something. I close my eyes and try again. The flame erupts in my imaginative mind again but fiercely this time and I swing my arm downwards, doing a karate chop towards the ground. Suddenly a long line of fire appears and cracks like a whip, leaving a long trail of fierce fire on the floor. I just stand there in shock and stare at what is left of the fiery whip that I just created out of nothing. I just thought of another good practice spell while the fire was still burning up the floor. I quickly flip through the pages of the book and eventually find what I am looking for. I walk over to the fire, hold out both of my hands and out of nowhere frost begins to flow out of my hands like when Dollie was performing that numbing spell on me. The frost attacks the fire and freezes it. Leaving an ice sculpture of fire on the floor that is ten feet long. The demon book is no longer on my mind, the only thing that is, is sleep. Those few spells took all the energy I had. I walk over to my bed and plop down, face first into my pillow and pass out.
"Wake up!" Dravon yells as he throws an icy cold magical ball of water at my face. I choke for a second because some splashes into my mouth.
"What did you do that for?" I yell as I sit up.
"Did you do that?" Dravon asks with a smile as he points over to the ice sculpture. I thought it would have melted by now, Dollie is inspecting it.
