Season 6, Episode 8- Invested In Love

Annabella's POV

I woke up to my pager going off so I quickly got changed and left my room to see Callie and Arizona walking out of their room as well.

"You got paged?" Callie asks.

I nod and we all head to the hospital.

Me and Callie separate from Arizona as we go to find our patient with Owen. We both get confused quite quickly.

"Wait, backtrack, you paged us both here in the middle of the night to look at a couple broken bones?" I ask annoyed.

"More like 50," Owen replies before showing us our patient.

We race for the OR quickly, knowing our patient needed surgery STAT.

Arizona was also racing for the OR with a patient.

There was only one OR prepped and we got blocked by a door so Callie yelled at a nurse to get another OR prepped.

I walk over with Callie to Arizona. I had a coffee in hand while Callie had 2, one for her and one for Arizona. Arizona already had a coffee so Callie frowned seeing this.

"Oh, you already have one," Callie says.

"No, I want your coffee. I need your coffee," Arizona says putting emphasise on the your.

They were a very cute couple.

Owen walks over to us and rants about Christina being mad about him not paging her last night and to ignore her.

She had the same plan as she walked past us and completely ignored us.

"I'm on your service today Ari!" I say happily to Arizona.

She shakes her head at the nickname and smiles.

"You, Avery, Percy, Christina and Alex," she says.

Wow, lots of people on peds.

I was standing with the other residents on Peds that fay as Arizona stood at the front.

"Okay, I know this is the first time on a Peds rotation for some of you, not for others. I wanted you to understand that I run my Peds unit differently to how you may be used to. This is not general surgery in miniature. They're the tiny humans. They believe in magic. They play pretend. There is fairy dust in the IV bags. They're more resilient than adults. Peds has miracles and magic.," she finishes her speech.

Jackson and Charles smirk at each other.

Christina walks forward, and pulls a disgusted face.

She leads us into the ward where a little boy is examining Hilary.

Callie asks me to present and I gladly do so.

Wallace does some math on his clipboard and I smile at him.

We then walk to his room. He starts to present.

Arizona then asks Charles to finish presenting.

They talk a bit about Arizona's interactions with Wallace which makes me smile.

They mentioned something about it being Arizona's birthday on Friday. Which takes me by surprise.

Me, Callie, Jackson and Owen are all operating Hilary.

"It would have been bad for me with my father if I talked to him the way Hilary talks to her parents," Callie says.
