Season 6, Episode 21- How Insensitive
Annabella's POV
We were all in lab with Bailey.
"Reaction, observation, communication. Any questions so far?" Bailey states.
Reed put her hand up and Bailey nodded, "Why are we doing this?"
"We're doing this because Chief Shepherd suggests we brush up on our patient sensitivity skills, that's why," Bailey replies.
"It just so happens this morning was a very good time. Besides, half of you were raised by wolves. Reaction, keep your face impassive, whether prompted by a patient's appearance or lab results, facial expressions of surprise, concern, disgust, ect.. can be counterproductive," she explains.
"Jokes. Don't make jokes about patients. Not in front of them, not even in private," Bailey states and Cristina puts her hand up.
"Yang!" Bailey replies.
"What if the joke is really funny?" Cristina asks earning a small laugh from everyone.
"It's not, neither was that one. Moving on," Bailey continues.

"Communication. Don't use jargon. Use language that the patient can understand. Be creative in using metaphors," Bailey states.
"I'm terrible with metaphors," Charles states.
"Yeah, no joke," Jackson says from next to me.
"Hey!" Charles says turning around to look at him.
"I can never come up with them!" Charles complains.
"You're as dumb as a box of hammers," Cristina says.
"That's a simile not a metaphore," I say.
Bailey carries on speaking very fast and i couldn't hear a word she said.
"Question, Adamson," Bailey says.
"Why are you going so fast?" Reed asks.

A... well... I don't really know what pulled up just as we got there.
"Did the circus come to town?" I ask.
"Nope, just the elephant," Jackson replies.
"Avery, you're off the case. Go!" Bailey snaps.
"Damn it!" Jackson replies before leaving.

Jackson's POV
Fuck, I didn't realise that would happen.
"Hi, I got kicked off Bailey's case and now what do I do?" I ask the nurse's station.
"You can go with Dr.Sloan," Amanda says, a nurse from mercy west.
I go off to find Sloan and then i find him.
"Um, Sloan! I'm now on your service," I say, running up to him.
"Right, do my post-ops and pre-ops. I have no surgeries today," He replies.
Could be worst, I guess.

I go to lunch and see Reed, Charles and April at a table so I sit with them.
"You got kicked off first," Charles says laughing.
"Well, someone had to go first," I reply.
"We're all off now so doesn't really matter," Reed says.
"What you guys get kicked off for?" I ask curious as to what happened with the case.
"I recommended we use a rhino ct. I was being serious," Charles says.
"Facial expressions," Reed said.
"Same here," April replied.
"What are you guys doing now?" I ask.
"Scut," They all say making me burst out laughing.
"What?" Charles asks.
"I'm did pre-ops and post-ops for Sloan. He gave me a pat on the back and then told me to relax when I'm done," I said laughing.
"That's not at all fair," Charles complains.
"Just cuz you're dating his friend," Reed complains.
I just smile and walk off.
Annabella's POV
"How the hell are you still on the case?" I ask Alex annoyed.
"Because I'm amazing," he says with a smirk.
We all end up laughing about the size comparisons of the man and his wife using a burger and a single chip until his wife showed up behind Criticism and me and Lex immediately stopped laughing at tried to tell Cristina but she didn't get the hint.

Jackson paged me to an on-call room so i went there.
"hey, u ok?" I asked him.
"Yh, Sloan let me relax after I did his pre-ops and post-ops which I did so," he started.
"All the attendings were doing things, so i'm doing nothing," I say as we walk closer together.
"Not anymore," he said before kissing me.

Jackson's POV
"You ready?" Charles asked.
"Yep, let's go," I say as we both walk out the residents lounge.
"I'm so mad I got kicked off that case!" Charles complained.
"You recommended they use a rhino CT for a man," I say trying not to laugh.
"Yeah and you called the guy an elephant!" Charles points out.
We both end up laughing as we go back to the apartment.
