(A/N: an old friend who hasn't been around for a while will be returning soon... although I'm not sure you'll be happy to see them🙂)
Another note, there's a chapter before this one that's being edited and so when it's published you will have to go backwards, sorry for the confusion but seeing as it's taking long to write that chapter I didn't want to leave you without content. The flow of the story won't be affected, I'll make an announcement once the previous chapter is done. Sorry for the delays my dear bread lovers)

The 'Great Hall' as Hanuel called it. It was one of the largest and most unused rooms in the entire mansion. Lee Hyunjin guessed that this would be a 'ball room' if this place was a palace or some kind of meeting room for high ranking people.
But right now, this place was an arena and possibly Lee Hyunjin's grave because Hanuel had told him this would be their last battle before they set off.
It was much larger than the other hall Hanuel had used to train him (beat him up) and it wasn't empty.
There were chairs set up in a semi circle in each corner of the room as if their would be spectators and there was also a number of pillars, fashioned around the room so they formed circle.
Lee Hyunjin stood at the centre of the circle, he was wearing the clothes Hanuel had prepared for him which consisted of black pants and a black tunic. He also wore brown leather boots that he found particularly comfortable.
Lee Hyunjin loosened the ropes along the v line of his tunic and rolled up his sleeves. He gave a few light jumps in preparation.
Training with Hanuel had allowed him to put on some muscle despite his body fighting to maintain its 'averageness' that never changed no matter how much he stuffed himself. When he clenched his fist, he could see the vague outline of veins along his arms and he felt a bit of pride at that.
"So, you ready?" Hanuel said, he walked up to Lee Hyunjin dressed similarly but his attire was a mix of dark red and white and he pulled it off beautifully as if he was a royal.
Lee Hyunjin nodded but he still asked, "are you really okay to fight? Your injuries from before..."
"They weren't anything serious, you healed me yourself so you should know best, I'm fine," Hanuel chuckled as if him sustaining life threatening injuries was impossible.
Lee Hyunjin agreed, Hanuel had let him draw the corruption out and also use Eneri to heal his injuries, he counted it as part of his training to perform transfusion but because he couldn't see if a person had internal injuries he still asked.
"Alright then, shall we start?" Hanuel backed away from him a few steps. In his hand was Eun in spear form and he spun it slowly as if that was the count down.
Hanuel had placed restrictions on Lee Hyunjin before when they fought, he wasn't allowed to use spirit, he was only allowed to use a weapon of his choosing and Lee Hyunjin felt most comfortable with a dagger.
Today his restrictions had been lifted. Hanuel allowed him to 'use everything he had' in order to defeat him. The consequences of failure were never relayed to him but Lee Hyunjin felt that it wouldn't be anything he liked so he had to do his best.
Two daggers were held in each hand, they were a set, each of them sporting a black hilt and a curved, jagged blade. They were both the length of his forearm making them just right for Lee Hyunjin who couldn't do long distance attacks but liked to keep a certain amount of space between himself and his opponent when engaging directly.
Hanuel gave the signal to start.
Lee Hyunjin was a little excited truth be told. Maybe months of training with Hanuel had allowed him to adapt some of the latter's attitude towards battle but he could feel his heart pounding in his chest and his grip on his blades tightened as his blood coursed through him in a rush of anticipation.
