I sat up. I saw a big machine that looked like it could scan paper. I giant 3D printer looking thing was next to it. A computer was on a small table with papers surrounding it. Jason looked at where I was looking. "Sorry," he said, "I'm messy." "I know almost everything about you," I said. He smiled. "I know," he said, "You are the one who designed me after all." "Where's my sketchbook?" I asked. He ran to the table and came back with it. There was a bookmark marking one of the pages. I opened it to that page. It was a picture of a dress I drew. I wanted to wear it some day. Jason tapped me on the shoulder. "Watch," he said. He took my sketchbook and whipped that page right out of my sketchbook. He put it in a picture frame, and the computer seemed to scan it. The printer looking thing came alive and a black curtain blocked my view. When I was able to see the printer, my dress was there. My draw dropped.
Something was up. I have very bad luck. Was this my turning point? Jason brought the dress to me. "I can make anything you want real," he said, "as long as you draw it." I looked at my caste. I remembered what happened. "Where's Eleanor?" I asked. "Still at the hospital," Jason replied, "Your parents said the doctors didn't mind if I brought you here." "They said it was okay?" I asked. He nodded. I stared at him in disbelief. "No joke?" I asked. "No joke," he replied. I couldn't believe it. This must be really cool to be involved in. Jason handed me my sketchbook. "Do you want to draw?" he asked. I nodded right away. I could draw something to make me feel better. I started as soon as I got the pencil.
I drew and I drew. Jason couldn't figure out what I was drawing at first, then he realized. I was drawing a mansion. If I could draw it, it could be real right? That would be a awesome test. "Where are you going to put that?" he asked. I made sure he knew it was a flying house. "Are you sure you want it to fly?" he asked, "How are you ever going to reach it?" "I'm going to draw a flying car," I told him. "You can't drive yet though," Jason said. "It doesn't need to be driven," I replied. Jason looked at me and turned away. "Would you like anything to eat or drink?" he asked, changing the subject. "I'd like some pretzels and a glass of water please," I said, testing him. "Hard or soft?" he asked. "What?" I asked. "Would you like a hard or soft pretzel?" he asked. "Soft," I replied. He left the room. I turned back to my drawing. What a day.
I kept drawing for a few more minutes and I heard the door open. I looked up. Jason was holding a plate with two big soft pretzels with one hand and in the other was a glass of water. "Here," he said. He set them on the desk. He pulled out a table that could sit on my bed. He put the food on it and put in on the bed. I immediately dug in. I was starving. My drawing was almost finished too. I was happy at the moment. I was sure this was the best thing that ever happened to me.
