Midoriya woke up to lights blinding him. As his eyes adjusted to the new environment, he realized he was in the hospital. Again. "Jeez, when am I gonna stop ending up here?" He thought to himself. He rolled over to his side, and saw Kai's hoodie, folded neatly on the bedside table. He felt tears well up when the realization hit him like a truck: Kai's gone. He wanted to forget that his very best friend (and crush) got kidnapped by the League of Villains. Why? Why did they have to take her? Why didn't they take him instead? He felt the guilt pile up on his chest, making it hard for him to breathe, when the door opened. In walked the 19 other students. "Hey Midoriya! We got you a melon!" Mineta said, holding said melon high above his head. "Oh. Thanks." Midoriya said, his voice hoarse. Jeez, is that what he sounded like? "We're all here!" Uraraka said, trying to cheer him up. "Well, most of us..." Jiro said, and the mood immediately dampened, as the heroes in training remembered Kai's sacrifice to save them. "I could've reached her... I was so close... If only I was a little faster..." Midoriya said, tears brimming at the corners of his eyes. "Well, you can still reach her!" Kirishima shouted. Midoriya looked up at him, confused. Kirishima continued. "I was a horrible person to Drew! I excluded her, badmouthed her, and was just all around not manly! And what did I do when she was in trouble? I just stood by and did nothing! She saved me, and now I've gotta do the same! Are you with me, Midoriya?!" Izuku didn't know how to respond. He didn't have to, though, because Peggy burst into the room. "Where's Kai?!" She shouted. A doctor tried to pull her back. "Miss, please!" Peggy scanned the room, and she couldn't spot the bundle of turquoise haired energy she grew to love. Midoriya got out of bed and ran up to her. "Peggy!" He said. "Oh, thank the gods, Midoriya. Where's Kai? She got out a-okay, right?" Peggy said, worry evident everywhere. Midoriya felt tears boil up again. "N-No. Kai got captured. We...We don't know what happened to her." Peggy's face fell. "Oh." She tried walking away, but her legs shook and collapsed mid-walk. "Th-Thanks for your help, Midoriya." Midoriya spoke, "You're welcome. I hope both you and Kai get home safe." Peggy smiled weakly at him. "You too. You too." She then walked away, quiet sobs shaking her body. Midoriya looked back, seeing 16 confused faces. "Kai's guardian. Her name is Peggy Suave. The two are really close." Some heads nodded, some let out a quiet "Oh." Midoriya laid back down in his bed. One thought was playing on loop in his head:

"I hope Kai's okay."

"So... your name is...Dababy?" Kai said, confused. "NO- MY NAME IS DABI!" The scarred man shouted. "Nah. You're Dababy." Kai said, nodding to herself. "Oh my god, you are so annoying." Dabi said to himself. "And you look like a 14 year old emo edgy e-boy, but I'm not complaining." Kai said with a straight face. "I- wHAT?!" Dabi said, wondering what language this lady was speaking. He heard slight snickering, and he looked at the girl with crazy buns. "You laugh, I kill you." He said monotonously. Bun girl nodded and kept snickering. He rolled his eyes, and focused up back on Kai. "Listen, Little Mouse-" "EW! DON'T CALL ME THAT! YOU'RE LIKE 50!" Kai shouted, severely grossed out. Bun girl made a sound that was a cross between a choke and a laugh. Dabi was severely offended. "50?!" Kai sweat-dropped. Why does she always pick fights she can't win? "Uhm- yeah...?" Kai said nervously. "I'M, LIKE, 20 YEARS OLD!" Kai looked confused. "Seriously? Take better care of yourself, man-" "THAT'S IT! I'M GETTING THE BOSS! HE CAN DEAL WITH HER!" Dabi shouted. Kai felt her heart drop deeper in her stomach. Bun girl walked over to her. "Hi~!" Kai scooted away as much as she could. "Uhm...Hi?" "Toga! Leave her alone! She could be dangerous! Talk to her! She's harmless!" The man in grey and black said. Kai thought he was like a ripoff Deadpool. The two began fighting. "...Iwannagohome." Kai mumbled under her breath. Suddenly, the door to the rest of the building ripped open, and Shigaraki stood there. "Ah! They're multiplying!" Kai shouted to nobody. "KNOCK HER OUT!" Shigaraki shouted. "UH- LET'S NOT DO THAT?" Kai shouted back. Dabi ran to the bar, grabbed a bottle and cracked over Kai's head. "Pshh, that did nothing!" Kai said, right before she passed out. Shigaraki then ran to her and disintegrated her restraints. She fell limp in his arms. He picked her up and began walking away. "Oh, thank god." Dabi said, appreciating the fact that the annoyance was knocked out. "You're lucky I didn't kill you. Don't ever hurt her again, or I will kill you. Got it?" Shigaraki said. Dabi felt beads of sweat form. "Y-Yeah. Got it." Another villain, a lizard man sighed. "Who even was that?" Right before Shigaraki entered the hallway, he answered the lizard man. "Kai Drew."
