(Y/N)'s POV:
The Hashira Meeting is over. I immediately go up to Shinobu. "Shinobu. May I please go to the Butterfly Estate and help out with caring for my brother?" I ask. She nods. "Of course (Y/N). I wouldn't hold you back from helping him." I smile warmly at her. We then walk to her estate together.
Once we arrive I go straight to the medical wards. Shinobu had told me what room Tanjiro was in on our way here, so I went there. As soon as I opened the door I saw Tanjiro talking to Agatsuma-kun and another boy. I walk over to them. "Hey Tanjiro." I say as I walk over he smiles and greets me back.
"Hey (Y/N)! Oh I should introduce you to these two," he gestures to Agatsuma-Kun and the other boy. "This is Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inoske Hashibara. I've been travelling and working with them for a while now." Tanjiro says. I smile warmly at the two.
"It's nice to meet you Agatsuma-kun and Hashibara-kun. I hope Tanjiro hasn't cause you all any inconvenience." I say in reply, then Tanjiro get defensive saying that he doesn't inconvenience them while i laugh at him. Agatsuma-kun starts asking Tanjiro on how we know each other and he explains that we're siblings and the he freaks out, questioning how our genes made Nezuko and I so pretty, I thank him for the compliment.
Eventually Tanjiro and I start talking and filling each other in on what's happened to us these past years. He takes me to the room Shinobu is letting Nezuko stay in and we talk in there while I was playing with Nezuko's hair.
Eventually it starts to get dark and I have to go back to my estate. I say my goodbyes to Nezuko and Tanjiro before going and finding Shinobu to say goodbye. After that, I leave and go to my estate.
꧁The Next Day꧂
I woke up early this morning to train. I got dressed in my uniform, and I trained for a few hours then I went inside to make myself some food. Afterwards I did more training. Around noon Akemi came to me and said that I have a mission with Muichiro-kun.
Akemi informed me that strange things were happening in a small village on a mountain. Apparently there are children disappearing then a few nights later their parents disappear. It is suspected that there are several demons in that area that are doing this. It slightly reminded me of the spider like demons on the mountain of yesterday's mission.
I put my haori on and then started leaving to go to the location. I quickly stopped after a few steps out of my estate when I saw Muichiro-kun he hadn't noticed me. I catch up to him and say hi. "Hey Muichiro-kun! I'm excited to work with you." I say.
He jumped slightly, he obviously didn't know I was there but he soon replies. "Hey (Y/N)-chan." He says. His voice is quiet but I've noticed that he usually behaves like that during meetings too.
"Do you mind if we travel together?" I ask. He shakes his head. "No I don't." He replies. I smile at him and put my hands together. "Great!" I say while the smile remains on my face. He doesn't smile back tho. I don't really mind.
While we walk we talk about things that interest us. I was the one who was asking questions. He said his favourite food is simmered radish with miso dressing, and that he likes looking at clouds.
By the time the sun is close to setting we arrive at the village. We walk around for a bit. Asking locals about the disappearances and who disappeared last. Apparently it was the parents a a young girl who had gone missing 2 days ago that disappeared last night. If the cycle goes in the order that Akemi said it's been going, a child should be disappearing tonight.
Muichiro-kun and I continue looking around and by the time we had looked around the entire village the moon was in the sky. Suddenly we heard a scream come from a small house on the outskirts of the village. We run to there and I open the door.
In the house there were two adults who were injured and on the ground. The room was a mess and smelled like a demon had just been there. I rush over to the woman as Muichiro-kun goes to the man.
"Ma'am are you alright? What happened?" I ask her.
"A-a creature! There were two! And they took my sons! My husband and I tried to protect them but it pushed us back and took them!" She says, her voice is panicked and she is having a hard time to breathe.
I breathe in trying to smell past the heavy scent of blood. Soon I started faintly smelling two trails from where demons had been and it seems like both were running away. "Muichiro-kun i know what ways the demons went. You go that way and I'll go the other way after I treat their wounds." I said while pointing in one of the directions. He nods and leaves.
I treat the couples wounds and then leave in the other direction. As I get further from the house the smell of the demon gets stronger and soon, I see an injured little boy in the arms of a demon. He was crying and looked terrified. I felt so bad for him.
I draw my blade, trying to figure out how I can get the little boy away from the demon so I can cut its head. I decide to cut its arm off. "Thunder breathing. Second form. Rice spirit!" I chose to use the second form. I cut both the demons arms off with 2 of the slashes and use the other 3 to attempt to slice its head.
It's arms fall off and after finishing my slashes I bolt to catch the child while pulling him out of the demons now severed arm. I put him down behind me and get in a stance that will ensure easy movement but also that I can protect him. I know I can't use most of my techniques while protecting him so while the demon is regenerating itself I decide my safest option it to bring him to another person in the village. I grab him and run to the nearest home. I open the door and quickly explain what's going on and they agree to treat the boy's wounds and protect him.
I go back to the demon who is now fully regenerated. "Gah!! You cursed demon slayer! You made me loose my dinner!" It screams. "Well, that's part of my job so sorry not sorry!" I reply while lunging forward to attack it. It dodges my attack and starts running in the direction the other demon is supposedly in. I quickly chase it but before I know it, I can see Muichiro-kun protecting a child slightly older than the one I was protecting while fighting off the demon.
The demon lunges to grab the child that Muichiro-kun is protecting. "Thunder breathing! Third form! Thunder Swarm!" I hit it with the attack before it can grab the child and it gets encased in the swarm of lightning, it was trying to escape but the lightning just cut it's skin.
I go in front of the child and then the swarm stops. "Muichiro-kun! Can you handle these two while I go bring this child somewhere safe? I'll be fast I swear!" I ask him. He says he can and without hesitation I run off while holding the boy. I go straight to the nearest home like I did with the other child and explain everything. The people in the home agree to keep him safe and I leave. As soon as I near where Muichiro-kun is fighting I see him slashing one of them, but then I look behind him and see one of the demons going in to rip his skin with it's sharp, pointy, and painfullooking nails.
"MUICHIRO-KUN LOOK OUT!" I yell.
And now it's time for a Taishou-Era Secret!
Muichiro wondered how (Y/N) knew that the demon was in the direction she said it was in but didn't bother asking her.
