In September of 2011, I wrote a short story that had been intended to be no more than one short story. I was yet unaware of Wattpad at the time though I had been posting to another story site. This site no longer exists. Reaction to the story on that site was quite positive with many asking as to if there would be more to it.
I had a second idea, a second situation I could put the main character in, though I wasn't going to write it, reaction was such that I thought, why not? So, in May of 2012, I wrote a second tale. Soon a third and fourth story came and out of nowhere Ghost of a Stranger had become a series, a series that just did not want to end, no matter what I tried to do with it.
By the summer of 2018, there were sixteen tales in this series and at that, the series was still unfinished. Distraction got in the way, and by the time I am writing this introduction, seven years have passed, and the series had grown only by one further story, written in March of 2022. August of 2025 saw two more new entries. New edits of all parts were made which sees the series connect on a much greater level than ever before, so much so there now is a newly written prelude set-up to precede the first tale.
It is time to put this to bed, or so was the hope when I returned to this project in August of 2025. Though in September 2025 a twentieth part was written then yet another part in October of 2025. This project just doesn't want to end, so I will let it rest, yet again, and see where the future takes it.
The word counts of each of these tales vary from between a little under three thousand words or so right up to about five thousand words, with the prelude being a little over one thousand one hundred words long. I prefer to post each tale in one part instead of dividing it up in smaller chunks, even with the fact that it all connects as a whole.
