A young lady by the name Katie Green wakes up to a bright light shining upon her. Everything else all around is in complete darkness. Where she currently is, she has no idea. She is flat on her back tied down, strapped down with her mouth taped shut. Not knowing for sure, she can only assume that what she lays on is at a height up off the ground, possibly being on some sort of surgical bed or table.

Her clothing has been removed, and she is covered up to just below her shoulders by a single thick sheet of silk, folded back upon her chest area. The lighting coming at her is akin to the likes of lighting used to illuminate snooker and pool tables and this lighting is doing no more than illuminate her as she is.

Fear only really begins to hit her when a click and a squeak sound out, possibly a door opening in an area with which she cannot turn her head towards. The click and squeak are followed by another click then footsteps moving slowly and methodically, closing in on her.

Squirming and attempting to plead only fills the immediate area with muffled groans temporarily drowning out the sound of the approaching footsteps. Her squirming and pleading occur because she knows she is in trouble, a horrible life-threatening kind of trouble. The footsteps continue to come close until they come to a halt right next to her and a captor is revealed.

A thin, middle aged and balding man has come through the darkness to stand next to Katie. This man is wearing glasses with thin circular frames and dark lenses. He is also wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, a thin black tie and a dark brown leather apron. He says nothing, doesn't even acknowledge the person before him.

Katie continues her muffled groans and begins to breathe heavy through her nose, her heart pounds so hard it feels as if it could burst right out of her body at any given moment and explode upon impact with the thin silk sheet that covers her person. She can almost see her own blood burst right out of her, continuously spraying out for a moment or two but of course, this is not happening, not yet anyway.

The man at her side has not come for her feminine attributes; he has not come to abuse her physically or to torture her, he is at her side for something else entirely, she is here for something else entirely.

Her arms are uncovered, and the bald man begins to pay attention to her right arm. Her eyes begin to bulge, seeing for the first time what surrounds her. Equipment and instruments, surgical equipment, and instrumentation, he turns away and pulls a work top close before turning back to tie a tourniquet to the top of her arm. He then opens a plastic wrapper and reveals a syringe.

The arm is indeed tied down as is the rest of her, all apart from her head and there is little she can or could do to protest what he is about to do to her. He taps her arm at the inner side of her elbow joint then inserts the needle of the syringe, securing it to her with white tape and altering the other end of the syringe to connect it to tubing. Her own sounds, her muffled echoing groans increase as does her nasal breathing.

A machine is turned on, and her blood begins to flow through that attached tube and as the blood does begin to flow, he moves to exit the room. The hum of a machine and the fading sound of footsteps may just be the last sounds that Katie Green ever hears. She may just get to be reunited with her sister, albeit much sooner than she could have ever anticipated.

Christmas, a time of year Colin wished he could just bypass. There was and is nothing about it that he enjoys. It is December eighth and the fifth Christmas he is to spend in the big bad world alone, as debatable as the word alone can be when used to describe his world.

He has managed to hold down a job for about seven months or so and at this moment in time he has himself a decent average-sized apartment. Taking it easy with whatever money he earns is something he is getting used to, for he knows not where the next tide of employment will come once his current employment comes to an end. So, even thinking about sorting out a better place to settle down within, a better place with which he could actually call home, is something that is not currently an option. Where he is now, will do for the time being. With all things being what they are, it'll be sooner rather than later when he will be forced into moving on.
