Loqui knew she couldn’t ask Rose for help because of the state she was in; Loqui turned to Rose and made a hand gesture that said “stay back.”

Rose thought she couldn’t stay back because of too many uncertainties, but she knew that she could not use her magic without Loqui seeing. She could not risk Loqui seeing her magic if this wolf and its cub were the wolves she met many years ago.

As Loqui was taking slow steps towards both cannibals, the intimidating wolf was still in a defending stance, and she had all these thoughts, “why does this girl smell familiar? What is this little girl up to? Does she not know I’m ready to strike if need be?”

At that moment Loqui looked down at the ham and thought, “this should do the trick;” she grabbed a stack of sliced ham and placed it down in front of the ruthless looking wolf.

The fearless wolf thought, “this could be the child from the cabin in the Black Forest. If that is the case, that woman behind her is the baby protector!”

Once the mother noticed the cub running to the sliced ham, she walked slowly behind her son to make sure she was always close to him. As the cub scarfed down the ham, its mother smirked a bit and said to herself, “well, the baby has had his fill, I guess we’ll eat somewhere else.”

Loqui must have read the wolf’s thoughts because she laid down more ham and backed away for the alerted wolf to eat. She was skeptical about the girl, especially since she was the daughter of a murderer, but since she has been kind to them from the beginning, she paid her no mind.
After the mother figure wolf was finished eating, she grabbed some more pieces of ham to take back for her and her mate; she then saw the cub befriending Loqui- licking her leg, and playfully barking. Looking from afar, Rose looked shocked at how well Loqui got along with both animals and simultaneously, the wolf was certain that the mute girl was the baby from the cabin in the forest as she proceeded to look at her interaction with the baby.

After the cub wolf finished playing, he ran over to his mother; Rose walked up beside Loqui and they both took a seat on the blanket that was meant for their picnic. At that moment, Rose was definitely certain that the mother wolf was the same one that killed Luka and that the newborn cub was made by Lycon and Lykina.

These were Rose's thoughts: "Could this be karma? Is this the universe telling me that it's time for Loqui to know the truth? Why now? So many questions! No matter what, I have to make sure Loqui understands what I did, what I had to do. I hope she can find it in her loving and caring heart to forgive me and the wolves."

As Loqui gazed at both the mother and her cub walking away, Rose stared attentively at Loqui thinking, “she bonded with them like they were family… could it be that she remembers them?”

The female wolf turned her head back at the two women and noticed Rose looking at Loqui, and Rose sensed the wolf’s gaze and looked her way. They both locked eyes, and the wolf said to herself, “the grown girl must not remember, but the child protector does.” The wolf looked back once more at both the women saying goodbye, then before the female wolf and the baby almost disappeared into the dark Black Forest, Loqui and Rose saw one more wolf shadow greeting both the baby and its mother; It was Lycon.

He got a glimpse of both Rose and Loqui and said, “the baby is all grown up. Hopefully, our little one is as lucky as her in this life.”
