(HEYYYYY

So like this story is gonna have not a bad ending, more of a mediocre one.

It's a bit angsty and is about cheating, betrayal, and the broken trust between two people who were in love ever since they were children.

It's gonna be super symbolistic and poetic kinda, so it might be a bit hard to follow along in some portions.

HAHA OKAY

CONTENT WARNINGS⚠️: maturity, infedelity, depictions of a very unhealthy relationship, strong language, angst, an "eh" ending.

Also— it mostly takes place in a circus, cuz Dazai is a clown in this story 🤡 (not literally, but metaphorically yeah, Dazai is a complete and total asshole in this one.)

Uhm... enjoy ig :D 👍)

The air was a bit chilly, cold.

The breeze smelt something of popcorn and the caramel scent of sugar burning.

Low rumbling of Cotten candy machines rang loudly through the air, along with what sounded like the instrument of a calliope— mocking the sounds of one of those small trains you'd seem to find at the local toy-store.

Various bright and vibrant colors were splashed everywhere, painting the area in this beautiful and playful aroma.

Huffing a bit, the ginger sat on a single bench, alone as he raised a small cup of hot chocolate to his mouth, letting the steaming liquid warm-up his shivering and slightly-blue lips.

The sky was as dark as Obsidian, the moon being the only one of nature's pure-born light. All the other lights were these colorful stringed up bulbs, shining of all different hues of the rainbow and reflecting off of the large and striped circus tents.

In front of the bench, sat a carousel.

Still sipping on the hot chocolate, the 19-year-old ginger watched the small ride intently for a few short moments.

The conductor towards the front of the attraction was this long black-haired lady, smacking her lips as she annoyingly chewed her gum into this little speaker attached to her mouth, connecting to the ride. She pressed a button on a podium in front of her, and a loud clicking noise emerged from the scene.

Kids adorned the large and shiny-metal horses, each of them connected to these poles that looked to mechanically move in this slow up-and-down rhythm.

The music of the calliope started to get faster, making all of the children on the ride squeal with excitement and anticipation.

And— the ride started.

First, it was slow.

Calm.

The children sitting on those large horses bounced in their seat, some of them looking to be almost infants and others looking to be almost pre-teen.

And, even though they were all different— their goal was the exact same thing.

All of their eyes locked onto a certain brassy and golden light reflecting off of a small hatchet dangling to the side of the carousel.
