I don't own the Maze Runner

Hunter

Chapter One

The ground rumbles beneath me and a small groan escapes the walls as the floor moves me upward.

I open my eyes as fast as humanly possible slightly surprised and I push myself up gasping for air quite suddenly. I stay there on my hands and knees breathing in and out.

I look around me and I find myself surrounded by darkness, the occasional light from the walls. I'm in a box, going upward.

I look around and there's are loads of boxes, crates and supplies around me. They're filled with fresh food, I can smell it all from here.

Slowly I push myself up and sitting a sitting position and cradle myself in the corner of the metal box and wait.

As the box comes to a halt I fall forward at the jolt and fall flat on my face, after a few seconds I slowly stand up, I hear nothing from the outside. No voices, no movement.

Slowly I stand on one of the crates and watch as two doors move to the sides letting in sun light, i push open two metal doors, and I grunt and wheeze finding them slightly heavier than I expected.

Suddenly I'm blinded by light and I stumble backwards falling to the floor, a groan escapes my lips once more and I push myself up and stand up. Then I climb out of the box and look at my surroundings.

I'm in a field, there are walls surrounding the field and my legs shake beneath me. There's a woods at the back too, and they're creepy looking too.

I turn around and near the box is a post with a note attached to it. I walk forward and take the note opening it and read it to myself.

'Glader,

Welcome to the Glade, your new home. The walls around you, those lead to the maze. Do not enter the maze at any cost.
If you do make sure you're back before sunset otherwise you'll be locked out for the night.

Every month there will be more supplies and a new Glader, for now try to settle in and await for further instructions.
Remember, WICKED is good.'

I look up "well that's helpful" I mumble as I crumple the letter in my hand and I launch it into the grass.

Then I look back into the box and face palm "how am I supposed to get this out?" I ask no one in particular.

Then I realise it, I don't remember who I am.

I don't know my name, or anything about me. I turn dive head first for the note and I find more on the back.

'You will not remember much about yourself Glader, so give it a day or two and your name will come back to you'

I crumple it again and shove it in my pocket. I realise I'm wearing a red shirt with black trousers and running shoes.

I shrug and I sigh and I go back to the box crouching beside the edge and begin to figure out how the frig I get the boxes out of there.
