The next morning, you walked through the door to your office. Loki had sent you a message saying he would have to cancel breakfast that morning. You were grateful since you quite literally were hungover from the night before. You knew what happened, and you didn't regret it, but something in you couldn't stop thinking about James and the way he made you feel. It was like there was this gravitational pull towards him, and funny enough, he felt it too - towards you. James hadn't felt something like this since his ex, almost three years ago.

Before you could place down your items, you saw a sticky note laying on a stack of about 20 files. You sighed, setting your purse in your chair and picked up the note.

Come see me when you get here.
- James

You took the note with you as you made your way to his office. Wanda gave you a confused look, knowing you'd just gotten there. You weakly held up the sticky note before you knocked on the door. It swung open quickly, revealing James. He seemed annoyed until he noticed it was you.

You held up the sticky note so he could see it. "You wanted to see me?"

"Yes, right. Come in." He opened the door wider, allowing you to step through. He rounded his desk as you walked in, letting the door close behind you.

You noticed there was a drink carrier with two drinks in it; a bag sat next to it. "This is for you." He gave you a small smile as he handed you a coffee. You were surprised to notice that he'd gotten your order correct.

"How did you—"

"You always come in with the same drink, Ms. Y/L/N." He paused. "Loki called this morning and said he was going to be late, figured you'd missed breakfast."

With how little you'd seen him around the office, until recently, you were surprised he'd even bothered to notice what your order was.

"Thank you." You muttered, taking a sip and sitting in the chair across from him.

He hummed in acknowledgement as he took a sip from his own cup. "I grabbed muffins too, if you'd like one." He spun the bag so the top was open toward you as he focused on something on the computer screen. You nodded, finally listening to your grumbling stomach.

You weren't sure what James was doing but it was nice to see him at least a little laid back. You scooted forward slightly, as not to disturb him. Something told you to stay, rather than slee back to your own office. You reached into the bag to grab the muffin.

In his head, James was losing his mind. He wanted to keep you in here as long as possible. Yesterday was different than today. Yesterday he was just frustrated over your short skirt, and the way your hair fell down your back - more the fact that he wanted to wrap his hands in it.

Knowing you were with Loki last night made a fire burn inside him, he wasn't sure what it was. It could've been anger, disgust. Jealousy? He shook off his contemplation when you cleared your throat and took a piece off the blueberry muffin that he'd gotten you. Nat hinted that you liked blueberries when he ran into her this morning. He was struggling to pick a pastry.

You popped the piece into your mouth as he looked over you, his movements stalling for probably too long. "While this is nice, can we talk about yesterday?" You folded your hands in your lap.

"What about yesterday?" He asked, smugly. He knew exactly what you were talking about.

You sighed, lowering your head as he took a sip from his coffee. "When I came into your office yesterday, and I sat on your lap." You muttered. You knew nobody else could hear you, but you still felt weird talking about what occurred.
