Before the embrace could get awkward Drew said he had to leave now or else he would be late for school. I slowly made my way back into the house after that.

Our house was an old white two story house from the late 19th century, having original woodwork and floors, aunt Judy was in love at her first encounter. I also loved that house was homey and cozy.

I made my way back up the grand stairs as Judy liked to call them and down the hall and into my room.

I grabbed my uniform from my closet knowing I had to work the lunch shift then I glanced at my clock seeing that it was only 7:56 a.m. four more hours until work.

My head was getting flares of pain and I decided to lay down and try to rest some more. I closed my eyes and was instantly off into sleep.

*************************************

The sun was nowhere to be seen as I sat up in my bed. I looked around so confused then I spotted the time by turning on my phone. It was 10:14, I had slept more than twelve hours, I had about twenty missed calls from Judy who was still at work since it closed at eleven.

"Aunt Judy I'm so sorry," I said into the phone as I rushed to my closet pulling out a pair of white converse and grabbed my uniform from my window seat.

"Come finish the last shift honey it's fine," she said in a tired voice.

"Wait you're not royally pissed?" I questioned.

"I know you've had a rough couple of days but you're working all day tomorrow. Love you, oh I jumped you're car it's good to go." With that she hung up.

I was out the front door and sprinting to the diner my converse slapped the pavement as I passed the school and was finally to the diner.

"Wow it only took two minutes, new record." Cass said as soon as I stepped into the diner, which was dead, with the exception of a lone couple in the conner.

"You've got that table, Phoebe." I nodded and headed to the back of the diner to grab my apron and notepad, which I nearly dropped when I saw Drew standing behind the stove wearing an apron, a chefs hat, and had a spatula in hand.

"Hey Spongbob," I said recollecting myself.

"Hey," he relied flipping his spatula in the air and catching it by the handle. I didn't know what else to say but that I can was shocked, I could recall from my early childhood that Drew's parents had money and that he did not need to work.

"You really didn't think I was serious?" He questioned guesting to himself and his getup.

"No I didn't." I said and just left, going to serve my customers.

"Hey, I'll be taking care of y'all, I'm Phoebe. What can I get y'all tonight?" As soon as I asked the question barely even glancing at my costumers my head exploded into a furry of pain. my knees buckled and my head hit the floor with a cracking noise. My whole world went black.
