Three Days Later.
Mufida rubbed her swollen eyes lightly and yawned, and stood on her wobbly knees. She hadn't been sleeping well the past few days, as it was very hectic preparation for Sa'eed's graduation is going on. Laiba is also staying for the week, she will be leaving for Kano next week.
"Wallah to be honest with you Mufida, you don't look good."Laiba complained blocking her way. Mufida rolled her eyes and tried walking off but Laiba stopped her.
"What's bothering you? You are always distracted, and I caught you crying many times Mufida, what's wrong?"Laiba asked softly. She was worried that she might be thinking about her past again, which is not a good sign.
"Nothing Laiba, I'm fine okay?"Mufida sighed and added. "You don't have to worry about me, this is how I always look in the morning, I'm not a morning person."Mufida lied to convince Laiba but it didn't work, she knows Mufida in and out.
Laiba hummed placing her arms against her chest. "Is that so?"She questioned furrowing her brows at Mufida.
"Yes, and now please we've a lot of things to do, I need to take a bath and get ready."Laiba moved out of her way to let her pass. She quickly search for her phone and unlocked it to call Raheenah, she isn't giving up, she knows that Mufida won't tell her anything, Raheenah will surely help.
"Hello......"Laiba waited for Raheenah's reply. "Can you come over?......yes everything is okay....see you."She said and hang up. Keeping her phone down, she stood up to leave when Mufida's ringtone stopped her. She always wanted to find out whose calls Mufida was avoiding so much. Laiba strolled to where the phone was charging and unplugged it, the call had already been disconnected.
Laiba hissed, but then a message came in. The phone was locked so she couldn't read the message but the sender's name was clearly visible. "Baby Boo"Laiba repeated in her head. She doesn't know who it was but Haidar was the first to come to her mind.
Why was Mufida avoiding his calls ? Something is wrong! Definitely.
Laiba kept the phone and left to see what she can help them with in the ongoing preparations downstairs.
Mufida stepped out of the bathroom with her baby pink bathrobe. She rubbed her lotion and proceeded to the closet to get the ready. She found the simplest sky blue Ankara gown and slipped into it, she walked out of the closet to apply some makeup when her phone pinged indicating that she just got a message. She isn't foolish to not know who it was, Haidar isn't the type that gives up so easily.
She tapped on the message which simply read; Hey pick up your phone....
Followed by another one; we need to talk, please.
Mufida shut her eyes and inhaled very deeply, she doesn't understand where their relationship is going, she can't say but she needs a break, break from everything, Haidar and their not-so-perfect relationship.
Haidar there is absolutely nothing to talk about. I need a break, I need space to think over everything. And please don't text me until you patch things up with your father. She tapped the send button and kept the phone away.
She didn't like what she did, she picked the phone up to delete the message but he must've seen it already, so she give up, she really hope he will understand exactly what she is going through.
She can't breath without her mind drifting back to their last discussion, and she can't help but blame herself for everything, she should've told Haidar the truth in the first place before falling deeply in love with him, it's all her fault, so she should take the blame, but that doesn't mean she will tell that to Haidar. No, he should be the one to feel the guilt of approaching her with the matter the way he did.
