You woke up the next evening from a strange dream. You were only able to remember small bits and pieces of it.
-------------------------------------------------
“You have to (Y/N)...”
“NO! I WON'T. I'M NOT JUST GOING TO DO THAT!!”
“WELL THEN YOU'RE GETTING FIRED! NOW GET OUT!!”
--------------------------------------------------
You shook your head as the jumbled memories subsided. In about no time, you already forgot, and were searching through your drawer. You pulled your clothes out, laying them out on the bed. You changed into your clothes, thinking about the day ahead of you. Or night technically.
You had to check on one of the others. Baby, to be exact. She was kind of mysterious in a way. Oh and you sometimes worked with her in the day, when you weren't on night shift. But it had been a while. After that you'd probably be back off to Freddy.
As per usual, you had no idea what to expect from him. You weren't sure you'd ever be able to know what to expect from him. You pushed the thought back as you continued getting ready. You stood up in front of the mirror. You straightened up your clothes. You checked the clock, you were almost always perfectly on time. And today was no different. You walked out of the bedroom to head out.
You went out and to your car. You stepped in as usual, and headed off to the pizzeria. The day was just neutral, nothing sticking out. You decided to savor the calm feeling of your nightly drive in case of what may be to come.
Soon enough you arrived at the pizzeria. You stepped out into the cool air. You approached the building. You stepped inside and immediately went for the elevator. You stepped inside and waited. Your descent felt faster than usual, before you knew it, you were down there.
You stepped out into the underground building. You headed to Baby's room immediately, there was no need to waste any time. You crawled into the room. You stood up, looking up to see her right there. "O-Oh, hey..." You said a little awkwardly. She made eye contact with you the second you approached her. It wasn't as creepy as when Freddy would stare, for some reason.
"Your tool box is over there." She said, glancing in the direction of it. You looked in the direction she was referring, grabbing it. "Ah, thanks." You said. She nodded at you in response.
You got up and walked towards her. Your main goal was to check up on her, make sure everything was in order since she'd be busy tomorrow. She was calm and cooperative when you worked on her. She suddenly looked at you out of the corner of her eye. "Freddy's been acting different lately..." She said, nonchalantly. "Like he's calmed down from his constant hysteria." She continued. You nodded as you continued working. She then looked at you, "Weren't you the last one who worked on him?" She asked.
You pulled back from her, "Y-Yes, I was." You said. Her eyes met yours, staring at you for a few silent moments before speaking. "Have you noticed it?"
The thing about Baby was that she always saw you as 'different'. You didn't have any hidden intentions, you didn't see them as lower or inferior. You understood and tried your best to help all of them. You knew that she wouldn't expect you to be able to help him in the same way, and would be proud of you if you could.
"I, uh...I guess, I mean..there hasn't been any problems with him lately." You said. "So that's good." She nodded again.
"I think I'm done now." You said. She looked you right in the eyes again. "Well go on now, I don't want to hold you up." She said. You nodded with a weak smile. "Thank you, I'll be on my way." You said as you stood up, taking your toolbox with you. You placed it back off to the side before heading back out.
You had to go and grab a flashlight, as you'd forgotten to grab the one from home. You knew one was in main control room somewhere, a spare for this exact predicament. You looked on one of the small surfaces in the room. Found it! You grabbed the flashlight and turned it on. Then it was off to the breaker room.
Before you knew it, you were already in front of the breaker rooms door. You reached out to grab the door handle. You opened up the door and squeezed in, shutting it behind you.
Freddy was still right there. It was like he didn't move since you left the other day. He didn't acknowledge your presence, but you could tell he knew that you were there. You approached his stage just like the last couple of days. Uhm, hey Freddy..." You said a little awkwardly. Only then he turned his head to look at you. His flat expression changed to a beaming grin. "You're back~!" He exclaimed. You sat down on the stage in the same place as last time. "There was actually something I wanted to do today." He said. Before you could speak, or ask what it was, he continued. "Now I was wondering, could I touch you?" You fell speechless. You didn't know how to respond to such a request.
Maybe it was to gain your trust? He never outright said anything about you trusting him or him trusting you, but he did seem to hint at those ideas. Make you trust him by allowing him to do such was probably his plan.
"I mean...o-okay..?" You responded a bit nervously.
"Oh there's nothing to worry about~!" He said, slightly leaning toward you. "I just want to know if you'd be okay with it, that's all~!"
He turned his body towards you, reaching his hand out. His palm facing the ceiling. You lifted up your hand, thinking you knew what he wanted you to do. You glanced at his hand and then at him. He made eye contact with you, giving you a nod. You gently reached your hand out and placed it into his.
Your fingers grazed over his palm as you let your muscles relax. Your palm eventually meeting his and resting there. He turned his hand to a sideways angle so so he could wrap his fingers around yours. His hand was surprisingly gentle as it moved with yours. It was also a bit warm, or at least not as cold as you were expecting it to be.
You felt his hand firmly squeeze yours. You looked up at him, he met eye contact with you as you did. The look in his eyes was that peaceful look, that one that you'd only seen a couple of times. He was...calm. You squeezed back, to return the feelings he was emitting, even if you didn't fully understand what they were.
The atmosphere seemed to change, it felt nicer, warmer. You liked it. Freddy seemed to enjoy was as well. Freddy was a lot different than he was last week. It was nice that he could change, even if it might be temporary…progress is progress.
You watched as his fingers uncurled from your hand, finally letting go. You retracted yours back to your side as he did.
“(Y/N)?”
You looked up. It was kind of surprising that he knew your name considering you'd only ever had a close encounter with him recently.
He then pointed his finger at you. “You're fixing me…right?”
That same slightly demanding tone was back. “I'll try my best.” You responded. He met eye contact with you and nodded. “Thank you.” He said flatly before looking away from you.
----------------------------------------------------
The day wrapped up, and you were off. You were already heading outside of the building. All you could think of was what happened with Freddy. He touched you, held your hand. And he was so gentle about it. He showed no threat.
The agreement between the two of you felt less like a deal…and more like…a natural bond.
