They're fools to believe that a smile means happiness.

There was no time to be late, as the night was almost over for Jenesis Hammaz. She was to attend this After Party in the same dress, with the same makeup, and look content with the idea of her victory. To top it off, Jenesis was to flaunt the gold crown that rested on her head all night. Standing with Sasha on one side of her, Mags and Finnick on the other side. They stepped out of the huge limousine with caution. From what Jenesis heard from Sasha's painfully long ramble, this wasn't the President's Mansion. They weren't at that stage yet. This was basically a Hall that was reserved for the Capital Citizens life. Sasha had said it could be used as Bachelor Parties, After Party's, or even just a simple Cocktail Party.
They had decided to use this Hall as a After Party celebration for Jenesis Hammaz.

Not that she was any more special then past Victors—but because it was more so a gift from the Civilians themselves.

If this is what kept them content and oblivious, then sure.

" This is a Hall?" Jenesis questioned with pathetic surprise.

Sasha scurried to her side, " Yes! It is! And fix your tone Jenesis! You sound like we rehearsed this conversation already!"

Jenesis slowly nodded her head as Mags joined on the other side of her, Finnick standing beside Mags.

Their formation was mandatory for a reason that Jenesis for sure understood.

Before they had even stepped in the Limousine, when Roman was touching up Jenesis's make up, Finnick and Jenesis had a chat.
It was when Jenesis knew she was out of sight of the flashing cameras, surrounded by people that weren't Capital Civilians—she was welcomed into Finnick's warm embrace with no one watching them distastefully.

Jenesis allowed herself to cry.

The tears streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably as images flashed through her mind.

The deaths she had saw on that screen during the Highlights, had hit her like a brick once she was out of the spotlight.

She had seen Imani and Treyvon all over again. She saw how Slater and the Careers murdered each other like animals. Killing other Tributes with no mercy. The amount of stress and horror Jenesis had in her was weighing down on her heart. Jenesis wasn't even sure how she had kept it together during the Highlights. Why she hadn't broke down or cried during the parts that she was seeing in her head right now.
