Everything slowed.
"What? How?" I asked, tears forming.
"When you scratched me, Mr.P gave me one of his potions. I drank it, thinking it would protect me. But it didn't..."
"So this is my fault..." I whispered. She looked up at me.
"No. This is not your fault."
"If I hadn't scratched you, he wouldn't have given you the bottle. You can still come with me. We can find him-"
"No. You need to go on without me. I'm worried I'll change and you'll get hurt." Even though I had just met Bunny, she had shown so much compassion towards me. She didn't deserve this. I had just gained her as a friend and now she was being taken away too. It seemed like all of the people close to me were becoming victim to this infection. And this infection led to one man.
"Goodbye Bunny" I said, tears streaming down my cheeks.
"Don't cry Purple." She said wiping away my tears. "Please. I know you'll find a way to fix this. You'll find a way to get me back." I hugged her, holding on tightly, never wanting to let go. She sniffed. "You need to go Purple."
"Ok..." I let go and stood up, walking over to the train. I pushed a button that closed the doors, separating me from Bunny. She waved at me. I smiled, trying to stop the flow of tears.
Suddenly, she bent over, as if in pain. My eyes widened. When she looked up again, her eyes were glowing red.
"No.." I cried. I ran into the control room. And started the train. When I looked out the window, Bunny had stood up. She was fighting against herself, trying to control her feelings. She clawed against the pole. Her eyes kept going from red to black. She screamed no, over and over again. And then she froze. The same zombie expression as all the other infected. I started sobbing, and sank to the floor, putting my head in my knees.
"Why Bunny... You didn't need to take Bunny."I sobbed, pounding my fists against the metal. "YOU DID THIS!" I screamed. Even though Mr.P wasn't here, I couldn't hold back any more. "SHE WAS YOUR FRIEND AND YOU DID HIS TO HER!" I slammed my fist into the floor one last time, the boom echoing through the train. I looked up and wiped my eyes. "When I find you... I'm going to kill you." I muttered. "SO YOU BETTER BE READY." I stood up and looked out the window. Bunny noticed me and headed for the train door. She starting fighting her way in. I quickly started moving the train out, leaving behind another friend. The train rumbled along the tracks, the whir of the motor lulling me to sleep. But I couldn't sleep. I needed to get to Mr.P. I had been looking at a map on the wall. Bunny had told me about a safe place. But I couldn't do that anymore. I need revenge. I needed Mr.P to feel every emotion I had felt because of him. Sadness, anger, fear... and pain. I wanted him in so much pain he couldn't stand. I wanted him in so much agony he thought he was dying. And I wanted to be the one to do it. I hadn't realized I had been gripping the lever, and my knuckles had started to turn white. I took deep breaths, trying to calm my rage. But it couldn't be done. My brain tried to rationalize with me. Tried to get me to stop. But I couldn't do it. I couldn't get these hateful thoughts out of my head. I glanced up at the map again. I was heading for Mr.P's carnival. A theme park he had designed years ago. Maybe he would be there or maybe I could get some ideas as to where he was. My tears had stopped, but I couldn't get rid of the lump in my throat. Bunny had been so good to me. We were really starting to be good friends. But now... A sign light up when the train lights hit it. It read: CARNIVAL. I slowed the train down and it rumbled to a stop in a station. No one was there. Just the flickering hanging lights. I cautiously stepped out of the train. There was a ticket booth. The glass was dirty and cracked in some areas. Some stairs led up to the surface behind it. I walked up, prepared to finally see the man that had done all of this. I gripped the cold, steel, railing. Trying to steady myself as I walked up. It was night and the stars were twinkling. A cold wind whipped my ponytail in front of me. I pushed it away. Across the street was the carnival. The pink and green lights lit up the street and the Ferris wheel spun in a never ending loop, the music still blaring. "You better be ready Mr.P.... I'm coming for you." I whispered, heading for the carnival gates.
