*Chapter 13*

I glanced at myself in the mirror again. It's amazing what a shower, foundation, mascara a little amount of eyeshadow and lipstick could do. I had gone for natural colours, to fit with the mainly pink strapless skaterdress, pearl earrings and nude flats with ribbons on. I looked good.

I opened the door, coming face to face with my mom. She smiled at me, giving me a nod of approval once she had given me a once-over. I smiled back and she took my hand leading me back to the table we had been seated earlier. Shane had disappeared, Michael too, but dad sat in one of the chairs with glasses on his nose, newspaper in his hands.

"You look beautiful" he said when he had laid the newspaper on the table, and noticed our entrance. I blushed, but mumbled a 'thank you' in reply.
"Tell me, do I need to have a talk with this boy?" he asked, using a protective tone.

I blushed even more, shaking my head to tell him no. He lifted an eyebrow, but didn't say anything.

"Do we need to have the talk with you, then?" he asked.

My face was most likely crimson by now as I could feel heat on my neck, and the tip of my ears. I shook my head quickly, muttering a barely audible 'no'.

"You sure?" mom asked and I nodded my head. "Have you had sex then, honey? If you don't need the talk.."

"Mom" I whined making her chuckle.

"You have!" she exclaimed loudly. A big smile on her lips.

"Dad. Please" I pleaded him. He just smiled though, crossing his arms on his chest.

"I would like to know this as well, Janine"

"How many times?" she was sitting at the edge of her seat, just waiting for the information to reach her ears. "Was it with Cristian?"

I sighed, giving up. "No. It was a one-night-stand when I was sixteen"

"Was it good?" she asked wiggling her eyebrows. If she thought she would be getting juicy information, then she could forget that right away.

I let out a hopeless breath before answering; "I don't know, mom. I was drunk, I can't remember it"

"You were drunk as a sixteen-year-old?" my father shot in now, giving me a look that told me, I probably shouldn't have said that.

"Can we please talk about something else?" I pleaded. Mom laughed and shook her head.

"Let her be honey. We both know you did the same at her age" she told dad. He let out a sigh but nodded his head.

"Sister" Michael yelled while running towards us. "There's a phone call for you. Thry say it's urgent"

"Who is it?" I asked him.

"Don't know" he said. "We didn't get a name"

I stood up and followed him back to Shane's office. He was in the phone, talking to someone. I stepped forward as he handed me the phone.

"Hello?" I asked into the phone. My voice came out shaky, and I wanted to curse myself for sounding weak.

"Daniella? Is that you?" the voice asked me. It sounded familiar, a girl.

"Yes" I said.

"They've gone crazy" she said. "They have teamed up with rouges. Hundreds of them"

"Who are you?" I asked the voice.

"That's not important" she said. "They have sent a team of rouges to send a message to you. They're going after Redstone."

It suddenly dawned on me. I recognized the voice, it was Sophie, my 'sister'.

"Sophie, is that you?" I asked.

"Thank god you left when you could, Dan" she replied.

"Sophie, are you okay?" I asked panicked. "Please tell me they haven't hurt you"

"I'm fine. Thank you for doing what I said. For going to Dark-Wood" she told me. It went quiet after that. None of us said a word. A deep breath was sucked in on the other line before her voice took over again.

"I have to go" she said quickly. "Be careful" I tried to protest. To ask her why, but the line was already dead, and in fear of getting her in trouble for helping me, I didn't try to call back.

"Who's Sophie?" Shane asked me, curiosity clear in his voice.

"My sister"I answered him and sorrow took over his and Michael's face.

"You call them your family? After what they did?" rage shook Michael's voice.

"I'm not calling them family. I'm calling her family. She's only seventeen, she didn't know what her parents were planning" I defended. Sure, she hadn't been the nicest, but she helped me now, when I needed it at most.

My brothers sighed, but let it go.

"She told me Dawn pack has sent a team of rouges after Redstone. To send a message" I said.

Shane quickly took the phone out if my hand and dialed a number.

"Chris, there's rouges coming for Redstone" he said. Shane shooed me out while on the phone, talking to Christian. I tried to tell him that I wanted to talk to Christian, but he only hushed me.

The door closed infront if me and I frowned at it, crossing my arms, and giving out a small 'hmpf' in return.

I found my parents again, my dad reading the newspaper while mother stared into nothing. When I entered the door their eyes snapped to me and they smiled.

"Anything interesting?" I asked my dad sitting down infront of him.

"Not anything to worry about he said and let the newspaper fall down on the table.

There was a knock on the door, and we all turned our heads towards the sound.

"Why don't you go open the door, honey?" my mother asked me and I nodded.

I almost ran to the door, heart beating a thousand miles a minute. My hand reached for the cold doorknob, my nervousness making me slightly dizzy. I opened the door and came face to face with a man I had never met. Disappointment washed through me, I had been so sure that it would be Christian.

The man gave me a disgusting smirk, showing off yellow crooked teeth. He was dressed in rags, torn and full off blod. A chain hung around his neck, a stone dangling from it. It looked like an Emerald stone. I gasped, Emeralds makes my power useless, I can't throw him away now.

The man grasped me, too quickly for me to do anything about it. He held me so my back was against his chest, his arm around my throat. It was uncomfortable and by judging his little friend, he got a kick out of this. Disgusted, I tried to get out of his grip, to no use. He was too strong. He tightened his grip around my throat making me choke. I couldn't scream. I tried, but he was blocking air from my lungs, making it hard for sound to come out.

This was it.

The end.
