Part 27

You and Bucky walked around the village for a while. You made it back to a large building. "Do you wanna head home now?" He locked his fingers between yours. You looked down. "I-I..." You slid your hand from his grasp. His smile faded a little bit. "I think... it would be better if I... stayed by myself...i'm not good enough for you...it won't be worth it if you stayed..." You glanced at him. He looked almost horrified. "Y/n..I wouldn't have come to Wakanda with you if I didn't love you." You both were silent.

"You are enough, y/n... Why do you think you're not..?" You looked down. "I..I think.. it would just be better if you went back to New York.." you said playing with your hands. You could see bucky hesitate. "A-alright... I'll go back.." he looked at you. He kissed you. "I'll see you when you get back... I love you." He smiled as he walked off, stuffing his hands in his jacket. You stood there watching until he was out of sight. You walked inside of the building again. Shuri was already there waiting.

"White Wolf isn't joining you?" She asked. You opened your mouth to speak but shook your head instead. She gave you a weird look and took you to the room. There was a long bed. It was laid flat. You laid down on it. Shuri attached cords to your head. It stung a little but not too bad. You could hear her typing on the computer. You stared at the ceiling and thought. Bucky looked so distraught when you told him you weren't good enough.

He also just told you he loved you. You started having a flashback. You were dancing with Bucky. He pulled you in and he was looking down at you. He smiled. "I love you, y/n." you blushed. "I-I..love you too buck." The flashback ended. You could still hear the quiet taps of Shuri's fingers. Bucky really did love you. And you pushed him away. He was probably almost home by now or even sitting around the apartment.

You sighed to yourself and laid quietly. Shuri had stepped away. "I've got it almost all the way out but there was a lot of it so you'll be in here for a while longer before it's completely gone." You nodded slightly. She went back to the computer. You were probably going to be there for another while so there was no way of apologizing to Bucky until you got back. In the next hour, Shuri got T'challa to take you home in one of the jets after she had pulled all the mind control from your brain.It was quiet most of the ride. T'challa didn't dare ask any questions since you weren't with Bucky. You landed at Avengers headquarters not long after.

"I asked Barnes to come and get you." T'challa said, opening the door. You nodded."Thanks for your help, T'challa." You said kind of smiling. He nodded. "Any time." you saw the black car waiting for you out front. You breathed in and walked to the car. You got in and Bucky's face half lit up. You could tell he was very happy to see you. You half smiled at him. He put hand on yours but before you could pull it away he gripped onto it. "Why don't you think you're good enough for me y/n?" You looked down. "Can.. we get back to the apartment and then I'll answer your question?

He looked out the window and in one of the headquarters windows you could see a person through small black circles on the window. He nodded. You got back to the apartment you had walked near the kitchen and when you turned around Bucky was there. You tried stepping back but fell in the chair. He was looking at you now and rested his hands on the side of the chair. "My question..?" You nodded. "I.. just .. when we were walking in the village you looked so happy and.. I feel like when I'm with you, I'm just causing you more problems..." You looked down as you finished talking.

"Y/n, look at me." You slowly glanced up at him. "If anything, I should have kept a better eye on you. When I found out you were alive I was so happy. I almost could have hugged you to death or even kissed you. I was the happiest I had been once I knew it was you." He had his hands on yours face down. "I-i" you stuttered. "And if anything I should be watching over you." You didn't say anything.

You stared at him for a minute then pulled him into a tight hug. You buried your face in his chest. He hugged you back. You felt his finger brush over the stitches on your neck. He pulled away. "How did the extraction go?" "It was ok... I just had to lay there.." he nodded and brushed your hair behind your ear. His eyes never met yours. He put his hand on the arm of the chair and let his other hand fall from your ear, bringing against your arm.

He looked at you. "If you really don't believe that I love you, I'll just show you how much I love you." You blushed. He kissed you. He moved his hands again to your waist. You put your hand on his arm. You kissed for a minute when you could feel him get closer. You tried standing up but he slowly pushed you back and shook his head. You could feel his metal arm grip tighter but you knew it was hard to control so you let it slide.

Bucky was kissing you more. "Bucky, Bucky Bucky.." you said and he pulled away. "Did I do something wrong?" "No, I just can't breathe." his face turned red "Oh." you smiled at his flustered face. You pulled him into to kiss him but he hugged you. "I'm just so happy I found you." He said snuggling into your shoulder. You couldn't help but smile more. His metal arm had quite a grip on you like if he let go he would lose you. You hugged for a minute.

"Can.. we just lay somewhere.. and.. cuddle..?" He asked, looking at you. You nodded. He picked you up in a hug. He laid you down gently and then cuddled in next to you. He wrapped himself around you again and buried his head into your shoulder.
