~Chapter 2~
Bella noticed a girl who was about 14 years old who was asking her dad if she could play.
"Wow! Timezone! Dad could I play? Please please please please please?" She asked, swinging his arm.
"Okay, okay. You can play, Angel." He said to his daughter, but glancing at his wife.
"Hun, you've been bringing her here a lot of times and you're spoiling her!" Angel's mum said, quite exasperated.
"It's just sometimes," he said, hugging both of them by the shoulders. "And besides, her grades are high!"
"Oh okay, fine. I'll be going to the grocery. Do you want anything?"
"Mum! Buy me loooots of candies!!" Angel said, jumping up and down.
Her mum looked at her sternly. "Do you want me to bring you to the dentist again?"
"Maaa..." Angel cowered and pouted.
"It's okay, hun. Just buy her some." Her dad said.
"Okay, but you'll be the one to bring her to the dentist, ha." Angel's mum stated.
"Yah, sure." Her dad said, nodding.
"Ok, I'll be going now. See you later!" Her mum said, walking away.
Just then, Bella turned her attention to playing the arcade games.
"Come on, dad! Let's play!" Angel said excitedly. She pulled her dad along.
"Go on, Angel." He said, kinda distracted on the phone. He pointed to a Tekken game. "Oh! That one, you could play that."
"I don't like that, daddy! Boring!" She said, scrunching her nose. She looked around, looking for a game to play. "Ah this one! Dad could I play this?" She pointed excitedly to a game.
"Ok, go ahead, Angel."
She swiped her Timezone card to play on it. It was a game where you dance. The screen shows the arrows you are supposed to step on on the dance floor. If you miss one, you lose a life. If you lose all of your lives, then it's game over.
Angel played and didn't seem to miss an arrow. But then the beat became faster and she missed a lot. Later, she lost all her lives and the machine said, "Game over!!"
"I don't want to play there! It's so tiring!" She panted.
"O this one? You hit the heads of the dogs that are coming out." Her dad pointed to a game where you bop the plastic dogheads that are coming out of the holes.
"Okay.." She swiped her Timezone card again and the sound effects started to play. She smiled widely and picked up the hammer. The plastic dogheads started bobbing up and down and Angel tried her best to hit all of them. After a couple of minutes, the game machine said, "Game over!!"
"Ha! Good! Cuz I'm tired already!!" Angel huffed.
"Awh! You're tired already? Let's go home now?" Her dad asked worriedly.
"No dad! I'm fine!" She said, dismissing the matter. They walked along and Angel saw this arcade game where you could get a stuffed bear. It had a glass casing on top and had a mechanical claw that you move with a joystick to get the bear. There were stuffed bears and other stuffed animals inside the glass casing.
"Oh how about that?" Angel pointed to the game excitedly. "Dad could you get me the teddy bear, please please please??"
"Okay dear. I'll try." He chucked as he went in front of the game. He swiped the Timezone card and started moving the joystick. Once he positioned it properly, he pressed a button to drop the claw to grab the teddy bear. The claw dropped and perfectly grabbed the teddy bear. It pulled up and went over to the side chute to release the bear. The bear went down to to the bottom of the chute where there is a hole.
"Thank you daddyy!!!" Angel exclaimed as she got it out.
"You're welcome dear." Her dad smiled and put his arm around her shoulders.
"Dad! How about that? That game! I've been wanting to play that game!"
"Which one, Angel?"
"The car racing game!!"
"Oh yeah! C'mon, let's play!"
They raced over to where the car racing game was.
They swiped the card for both of them. They started racing on two different game stations.
"Ha! I'm going faster than you, Angel!" Her dad said playfully.
"Nuh-uh!! I'm coming!!" She said.
Little did she know that that was one of her last bonding times with her dad.
