Quackity woke up in a cold sweat. He'd had yet another nightmare.

"Sap...?" he whimpered. "Karl...?" Only silence responded. Oh, that was right. His fiances were gone. And they sure weren't coming back.

Quackity sat up, looking at his still unfamiliar room. He'd never get used to waking up in a place without the walls of the house he once shared with his boys, that after time he'd grown quite accustomed to. He pulled his knees to his chest, sighing slightly.

~~~
"Quackity..?" Sapnap said, opening the door a little further. Quackity looked up, shifting his position slightly.
"Yeah, Sap?" Quackity responded. His eyes were red and his cheeks were stained with tears.
Sapnap looked at the shorter boy with concern in his eyes. "Baby, are you okay...? You look like you've been crying-"
"I'm fine." Quackity smiled weakly. Sapnap frowned.
"No you're not.. you always seem so tired, too...."
"I'm- I'm okay, I promise."
Sapnap nodded slowly, not wanting to push. He went over and sat down on the bed next to Quackity. "..do you want cuddles?"
"Yes..." Quackity said, going a little pink. Sapnap smiled, pulling Quackity onto his lap. He rested his chin on Quackity's shoulder, lightly kissing the latter's neck.
"Where's Karl..?" Quackity asked, leaning into Sapnap a little.
"Making breakfast," Sapnap responded, humming a bit as he felt the weight of his fiance on his lap.
Quackity nodded, his breathing slow and deep. There was a moment of silence before he asked, "...you love me, right? You wanna be with me?"
"Of course- why wouldn't I, ducky?"
"I dunno... you just seem to like Karl better.."
"Why would I like him better? You're both amazing- you're both unique, and that's one of the things I love about you-"
Quackity stayed quiet for a moment. "..okay.... He's so much better than me, though....."
The two sat in silence for a little while, the air growing thick with unsaid sentiments. Sapnap continued to hold Quackity close, wishing he knew how to ease his fiance's fears.
"Sapnap...?"
"Yeah, baby?"
"Do you think Karl loves us the same...." Worry filled the duck boy's eyes and small tears found their way to the corners of his eyes.
Sapnap hugged Quackity a little tighter, kissing his cheek lightly. "Of course he does, why wouldn't he?"
Quackity shook his head and shrugged. "..dunno...."
"Quackity, baby... if someone's telling you we don't love you, they're crazy, okay..?" Sapnap said, his voice soft and slow.
"M'kay..."
"Boys? I finished breakfast if you want it.." Karl said, standing in the doorway.
Sapnap nodded. "We'll be down in a little bit." Quackity stayed silent, fiddling with his rings a bit.
"...is our ducky okay?" Karl asked, his voice going a little quiet.
"He's... he's having some stuff going on..... He's worried we don't really love him.."
~~~

Turns out Quackity's concerns were justified. They got married without him, and when they told him? Not a single thing about getting remarried so Quackity could be part of it. How shitty was that?

Quackity sighed and slowly got up, shoving on a hoodie as he checked the time. 3:07 am. Ugh. He walked across the hall, hesitantly knocking on Wilbur's bedroom door. To his surprise, Wilbur opened the door, looking as though he'd been awake for ages.

"Quackity..? Shouldn't you be asleep?" the brunet asked, concern threaded through his words.

"..had a nightmare...." Quackity admitted, his voice slurred due to his recent awakening.

Wilbur's eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Ah... do you wanna come in..? I don't know if there's much I can do to help-"

"...I just don't wanna be alone right now.." Quackity looked avoided eye contact, flushing ever so slightly.

"Of course-" Wilbur said, moving out of the way so Quackity could come in. Quackity hesitantly did, unsure if he was really welcome in this space.

"Sorry it's such a mess-" Wilbur went back in himself, sitting down on his bed.

The room was not, in fact, much of a mess. Sure, there were piles of things scattered around, but for the most part, the floor was clear and Wilbur's desk was rather neat.

"Don't worry about it.." Quackity mumbled, unsure what he was supposed to do.

As if sensing the younger's discomfort, Wilbur patted the bed next to him, beckoning the other over. Quackity nervously sat down next to Wilbur, maintaining a bit of distance.

"..do you wanna talk about your nightmare, or....?" Wilbur said quietly, picking up his guitar from the floor.

"Not now.. maybe later..."

"Well, if you'd like to, I'm happy to listen." Wilbur smiled a little and strummed his guitar lightly.

Quackity smiled the smallest bit. "Thanks..."

"It's my pleasure."
