Chapter Four - The Force

I woke up at dawn and just before the others now in one of the houses and sheltered from the elements. I rubbed my eyes and stretched, when something in the atmosphere changed. My eyes shifted and right before me I saw Kylo. my breathing became heavier as we stared at each other for a moment. I grabbed Rey's phaser and shot at him.

"Mama!" Hattie yelled. I looked at her then back at Kylo but he wasn't there. What was there was a hole in the wall. I ran out of the hut and looked around there was nothing till I turned to go back, he was stood mere feet from me. He raised his arm out

"You'll bring Luke Skywalker to me." He ordered, well he was trying to mind control but it didn't work, he realised that and the anger in me started to rise.  "You're not doing this, your confusion radiates as we speak. Not to mention the anger." He looked backwards

"Can you see my surroundings...." i cut him off

"You will pay for  was you did!" i sneer at him

"I can't see yours. Just you." he continued "So, no. This is something else." i heard a door behind me and I glanced back. Luke came out of his home

"Luke."

"What's that about?" Luke questioned me and I turned back around. Kylo was gone a hole in the hut and my scared sister and daughter stood staring at me. As well as inhabitation's having a go at me about the hole. I turned back and forth on confusion before clearing my throat.

"I was cleaning Rey's blaster when it went off." I lied. What could I say? I had gone mad and started seeing my former flame turned crazy traitor?

"Let's get started." He took the lead and I shook off the mornings events as the three of us followed him.

"Who were those things?" Rey wondered as we started climbing upwards.

"Island natives. They've kept up the Jedi structures since the were built." He answered

"I don't think they like me." I breath joining in with the conversation.

"I can't imagine why." came the reply. We made our way into the Jedi temple  and  there it led out to a ledge, where you could gaze upon the horizon. "before I teach you, I need to know where Rory is with her training, it's been a while so sit on there and face me." i did as i was asked and sat my self cross legged on the slab of rock. Luke rested his hands on my face.

"Close your eyes and let me in." I hummed and did so, the only time I would allow someone into my head. I could feel him flicking through my life like the pages of a book. Unlocking memories I don't know I had or ones I would rather forget. He pulled away and I opened my eyes "Your blocked, the troubles of the past hinder you from your true potential." he diagnosed

"So what can she do?" Hattie wondered

"Let go, how your life has lead you is full of lessons, learn from them and let go, concentrate of the future." Luke stated to me

"You say that like it's easy." I shuffled off and  I sat down on the edge of the cliff. There was a long silence.

"Master Skywalker, we need you to bring back the Jedi because Kylo Ren is strong with the dark side of the force." Rey stepped  "Without the force we won't stand a chance against him."

"What do you know about the force?" he countered to her and I looked back at them

"Its a power the Jedi have that let's them control people and make things float." she answered making me snort in amusement, whilst shaking my head.

"Impressive. Every word in that sentence was wrong. Hattie?" he then turned to my daughter.

"The Force is a energy that lives inside everything, even us. There are some people Like us that are sensitive to the energy that the force pulsates around us allowing us to use manipulate it to our whims." Hattie answered confidently with a broad grin.

"Hattie don't be so smug." I chuckle

"She's not wrong though." Luke retorted back "Lesson one, sit here, legs crossed across from each other." Hattie and Rey did so. I stood up and too the other side of the slab

"Hattie is right. It's not a power you have. It's not about lifting rocks. It's an energy between all things a tension, a balance, a balance that binds the universe together." he expanded on the explanation.

"Okay." Rey nodded "But what is it?" Rey wondered

"Close your eyes." Luke tells them "Breathe. Now reach out."  Hattie stays still but Rey reaches out with her hand almost hitting Hattie. I cover my mouth in amusement as Luke raises an eyebrow. He rolls his eyes but decide to use this as a lesson, but ticking her hand with the long grass leaf.

"Oh, I feel something." Hattie opens her eyes then looks at me. i put a finger to my lips and she grins cheekily

"You feel it?" he asks

"Yes, I feel it." I bit my lip to stop my amusement making itself known

"That's the force." he whispered

"Really?"

"Wow, it must be really strong with you." He then slapped her hand as she was mid sentence. Hattie and I started laughing.

"Ow!" she exclaimed "You mean reach out like... I'll try again" she trailed off as I calmed down.
