There was a small movement beside me in the bed, stirring me awake from my sleep. A pair of hands combed my hair away from my face and left a small kiss on my forehead.

My eyes fluttered open, but shut once again when the bright sunlight from outside the window got in my eye.

"Hey," I heard him whisper from beside me. "Sorry. Did I wake you?"

"No." I mumble, pulling him closer. "It's too bright out."

"Yeah." He laughs, wrapping his arms around me.

My head was planted in his chest, and I took in a deep breath. He smells amazing, but it felt super weird to just smell him. His hand came on the back of my head, massaging my scalp.

"You don't feel sick, do you?"

"No, not this morning."

I had recently learned that I was pregnant, and I told Kurapika after I brought him home when he so recklessly went after the phantom troupe. Saying that he was overjoyed would be an understatement.

He was literally so happy that he couldn't think straight, and he practically K.O.ed me on the couch, hugging me so tight that I couldn't breath. After he calmed down and realized what he did, he repeated to me how sorry he was and how horrible he would feel if he ended up killing the baby by doing that.

I just laughed and told him that the baby was definitely not dead and that I thought his reaction was really cute.

Kurapika started shifting beside me, sitting up in the bed and placing another kiss on my forehead. "I'm going to be right back."

I whimpered at the loss of his body beside mine, pulling my face into a pillow because the room was still so bright.

I could feel the baby starting to kick. We found out a month ago the gender of the baby. It turned out to be a girl and I swear Kurapika almost cried at the fact that he was going to have a daughter. Not in a bad way, he was just so happy to be having a little girl.

A couple weeks ago was when I felt the first kick. I did not hesitate to call Kurapika, who was thankfully at home that day. He dashed into the room, sitting down in front of me on the floor with his head resting in my lap.

"She kicked!?" He always had this childish reaction when he was overjoyed. I nod, rubbing my hands over my stomach until I felt another kick. I informed Kurapika of it and he placed his hand over mine. And just a moment later, she kicked again.

That was the brightest smile I had ever seen on Kurapika's face when he felt that kick. Even his eyes turned red.

"Think she'll get my eyes?" He asked, glancing back up to me.

"Maybe. That'll be cute, though, knowing what she's feeling. Just like it is with you."

"What?" He was so excited that he hadn't even noticed his eyes turning a different color. He understood after a moment, his face blushing as he rolled back on his heels, standing in front of me.

"Hey," Kurapika shook me gently. I groaned as I looked over to him. There was a plate in his hand as he took a trey and set it up so I could eat in bed.

"Kura, you didn't have to do all this!" I whimper, looking at all the food he made me. He really went all out this morning.

"Of course I had to. I have to take care of you and this baby." He said, getting in bed beside me. "Just please be careful not to make a mess."

"Right." I chuckle, leaning over the plate just to make sure I don't drop anything.

It feels so peaceful, just the two of us sitting here with each other. I think we're closer now because of the pregnancy, and it's so sweet of him to take care of me like this, even though I am capable of doing things myself.

After I finished, I started getting up to put my plate away but Kura held onto my shoulder, letting me know that he wanted to take the plate for me.

"No, that's fine, Kura. I'm getting up to take a shower anyway. And you've done enough for me already."

He let out a sigh, letting go and allowing me to put the plate away.

The house was so quiet, but it felt like home because Kurapika was here. We didn't have much in here, we really just moved to this house because we needed more room for a the baby. But even if it was empty, it felt so full of love and feelings because Kurapika is here. He just made this place all better.

After drying off the plate, I let out a sigh and looked over into the living room, placing a hand on my bloated stomach. There were a ton of baby books littered all over the living room. Me and Kurapika literally spent bourse just looking through the books. We didn't want a name that everyone else had, but we also didn't want a name that was super different.

I told Kurapika that we should name her something related to the color red because of his eyes, but then he just told me that we should name her something related to the color white because my hair turns white. The two of us just ended up agreeing to name her when she was born so we could see which feature she ended up with.

Kurapika stepped into the kitchen, finding me leaned up against the counter. He put his plate on the counter and looked over to me.

"You feeling okay?"

"Yeah, I feel great."

He placed a small kiss on my cheek before turning around to clean his dish.
