"How is it there?" It's four o'clock; Jungwon's seated on his desk in front of his laptop. It's new seeing Jay on the screen, and without being aware, Jungwon's thumbs lightly glide against the gadget in a circular motion, as if he was holding Jay instead. Though it has only been a day since they haven't seen each other, Jungwon's already feeling a bit lonely. He shrugs it off, Jay's here with him. There's nothing to be sad about, he thinks, and focuses on the present.
Jay shows him around his room, "nothing changed much," he says, and Jungwon isn't used to hearing his voice through the speakers. There was an apparent difference in their time zones. The sunlight was perfectly casting on Jungwon's face and lights up his room naturally through the seeps of his windows, but Jay has his bedroom lights dimmed. It was 11PM to where he's at, contrasting to the sun high up in Jungwon's skies. "Seattle's just the same. But..." He points the camera towards his bed, engulfing Jungwon's sight with patterned comforters of black and white streaks and two pillows on his bed of queen size. "There's something missing over here, shit."
A pause for a few seconds, and Jay urges the younger to contemplate in regards to what he meant. For Jungwon, it looks completely normal, but he scrutinizes it even longer. He raises a brow but looks serious nevertheless, and after some time passes, he finally mumbles, "what is it?"
"Huh? You don't see it?" Jay asks, still pointing to the bed. Jungwon shakes his head and Jay zooms the camera in. "C'mon, it's so obvious. Ah, I'm upset," He mutters from behind his phone, and Jungwon leans closer to his laptop while squinting his eyes, mouth slightly agape in sheer focus.
"I don't know what I'm looking for, Jay-hyung. I have no single clue what you're on," he says after leaning back to his chair, but he hears immediate shuffling from the other line as the camera shakes, as though Jay was dramatically doing his hand gestures. Due to this, Jungwon can't help but smile a bit, and he sees Jay's hand get in the frame and pointed towards the bed.
"Look, love! Just look."
"I'm looking!" Jungwon lodges his face closer to the laptop and ponders. What Jay has been meaning to present to him— he has no idea. With his voice in a whine that only Jay gets to hear, Jungwon huffs. "I can't think of anything missing there, hyung!!"
"Okay, okay. Fine, I'll tell you," Jay speaks, his voice bleeding through the rectangular speaker with the color of mint green that lays on the haphazard array of Jungwon's books stacked on his desk. The dimpled boy takes a mental note to arrange them back to his dad Namjoon's beloved shelf of literary works.
Once Jay said those words, Jungwon sits back straight and tilts his head with a slight crease in his eyebrows, frowning in thought. "Mmhmm. Go on. What's missing?" Surely, he would not want Jay to feel uncomfortable with a missing parcel. Especially not since he's numerous seas away from him. So he takes this seriously, until feels like his boyfriend is grinning behind his phone.
"You."
Silence. Jungwon purses his lips but his dimples can't help but become evident. "What?" He blurts, neck feeling heat crawl up to his face. "What are you talking about?"
