"How long are you going to stay here?"

Xavi glanced at Zane, then shrugged as he looked back at the TV. "Another week, maybe?"

"You said that last week and the week before that," Zane said, popping open a can of beer. He took a seat on the chair and watched whatever Xavi was watching. "What happened at home? Did you fight with Scott again?"

Xavi sighed, "Yeah, he's back at it again with another girl from a rich family."

Zane hummed, "Okay, I guess you're going to stay for at least a few months."

"Yup, probably."

"You should find a girl and try being serious for once," Zane told him, "Either that, or go home and confront your dad. Tell him what you really want."

"I don't want to get married yet." Xavi shook his head, "I haven't live my own life. I lived the life they wanted me to live. Business isn't my thing."

"See? It's not that hard to tell them what you want," Zane scoffed, "Go and tell Scott the same thing."

"He would kill me," Xavi snorted. He sat up straight and looked at Zane, "I don't want to talk about that. I need drama in my life. Tell me, have you talked to Mae?"

Zane shook his head, "I don't want to bother her while she's focusing."

Xavi rolled his eyes, "Ugh, you're going to miss your timing. Mae will move on before you find her. She'll lose feelings."

"She doesn't feel different around me," Zane shrugged, "I can tell. She's treating all of us men the same way."

"And that's according to you. That's your assumptions," Xavi grumbled. "You should've just knocked on the door when you found her. Talk, and bring her home."

Zane shook his head, "I don't want to force her or come off as forcing her to come home. I didn't know how to confront her after what happened."

Xavi hummed, nodding understandingly. "But it's fascinating. I wouldn't be able to find someone without a single hint, at least not in a short time. You found her in an hour. If that isn't what they call 'meant to be', I don't know what is."

"I got my hints before that," Zane said softly. He felt bad whenever he remembered that Mae had told him where she would run to when the road gets rough on the same night that he kicked her out of the house. Zane glanced out the window as he chugged the rest of his beer.

He checked his phone when he heard the sky rumbling in a distance. "Do you think it's going to rain tonight?"

"I don't know, I don't really care because I don't have plans," Xavi shrugged. "Why? Do you have plans?"

"Oh, I do have plans," Zane smiled as he saw the weather forecast and it was expected to rain that night.

"Where are you going?" Xavi frowned when Zane got up and went upstairs with a grin plastered on his face. "Zane, are you drunk? Where are you going?"

"I need to protect the fragile," Zane said, grabbing his coat and heading out.

It hasn't rained in a month. While taking his time to cool down and pull himself together, Zane decided to go and see Mae when it rains.

Otherwise he would be just another useless guy trying to beg her to stay.

Zane knocked on the door a couple of times. He checked at the restaurant earlier and it was closed for dining. It's almost 11 o'clock and it was raining heavily, but no thunder, so he was probably not very much needed.

Mae opened the door and looked at him, "Mr. Williams?" She looked around and opened the door wider, "What are you doing here?"

Zane was speechless. He did have a plan, but he didn't plan what to say to her for when they meet again. "I, uh..."
