"I'm scared."
Zane kept glancing at her while their car was still stuck in congested traffic. He regretted not calling an ambulance after seeing his wife kneeling up on the passenger seat and hugging the seat like it's a human, biting her finger while chanting about her fear.
"Zane Williams, I'm scared," she whined again, stroking her baby bump. She gasped and smacked Zane's shoulder as she felt another contraction. "Zane, I'm scared. Help me please. Go faster. I'm scared!"
"It'll be okay," Zane told her, stroking her back gently. He was more worried about her risky position at the moment. It looked like she was ready to crown the baby anytime soon.
"Fuck! I should have not gotten married!"
"Hey, that's not nice!" Zane frowned.
"Why did you cum inside me?" She moaned resentfully, almost pulling his hair. She changed her mind and patted his already messy hair from running around grabbing everything they need to go into labor while she was panicking about the unusual cramp she was having. "I'm sorry. That... That was mean," she gulped. Mae went back to whimpering in fear while Zane massaged her lower back.
"It will be fine, okay? We got this. It'll end in a few minutes."
"Don't lie to me. It'll probably last hours," Mae gritted her teeth.
Their peaceful morning was interrupted by Mae noticing unusual sensation on her lower belly. They were having breakfast, too. She lost her appetite immediately after noticing that she was having contractions. Zane also dropped everything he was up to and ran around their house gathering everything they need as soon as Mae told him about the 'weird cramps'.
"Can we go back home? I'm scared," Mae whimpered again. "It hurts. I want to go home."
"Mae Williams, I love you, but we can't do that. Even if we go back, the baby's still coming," Zane stroked her belly gently, "Think about that instead: we're going to see our little angel."
Mae sighed, shutting her eyes. She moaned to another contraction and sighed again. "Our little angel is going to rip my pu--"
"Look, we're almost there. I'll get vasectomy if you want, we're not going to have another baby if this one hurts. Okay? I'll do anything you ask of me. I'm sorry I put you through this," Zane interjected, speaking faster than ever.
"Well, I want more babies but it fucking hurts right now," Mae groaned. "I might take a shit. What if it's just gas like the last time? Zane, I'm scared. Ah!"
Her brief scream rang in his ears and Zane just shook it off. He wished there's something he could do to make it better. He glanced down when Mae gasped and looked down her legs.
"My water broke," she moaned in worry, her hand reaching for his shirt. "Holy shit, the baby's coming. The baby's coming... I'm scared. Do something!"
Zane clenched his jaw. There was nothing he could to to help her at that moment. He just focused on the road and sped through the traffic as soon as they got over the congested area.
They arrived at the hospital while Mae was moaning in pain and breaking in cold sweat. She had a tight grip on Zane's hand as they pushed her into the labor room. She was told to breathe as if she hasn't been doing it the entire morning, while Zane was changing into scrubs to welcome their baby himself.
"I'm scared," Mae whimpered again, staring at him with teary eyes. Her vision was blurry, but strangely enough, she was not in much pain. She was just panicking.
"Okay. Okay, baby. Listen. It'll be over before you know it, okay? She's already here. They told me you just need one quick push--"
"They're lying," Mae huffed, shaking her head.
