I go upstairs to change into some comfier clothes and when I come back down theres no sign of the boys, so i sit on the couch and read for a bit.

"Hello", a voice shouts from behind me.
I turn to see the boys walking down the stairs towards me.
"Hey", I smile.
"We ready then?", Blaise asks impatiently as always.
"Let's go", Draco says.

Blaise and I form a line behind Draco and mutter to each other about where he's taking us.
"I'm a bit scared to be honest. Maybe he's secretly a mass murderer", Blaise jokes.
"Shut up", Draco says overhearing.
"It's just something I wanted to show you".
"Okay, well if I see you reaching for your wand I will attack", I say.
He rolls his eyes and we follow him giggling.
He brings us up a flight of stairs that wind around in a never ending circle.
"I think I know where we're going", I whisper to Blaise.
"Where?".
"Wait and see".
Draco flings open a massive door and we step through to a room with no walls, the moon shining brightly down on us.
"The astronomy tower", I say curiously.
"Yes", Draco says shyly.
"Now I'm seriously concerned", Blaise says.
"It's a full moon tonight, i thought you'd like to see it. Best view in Hogwarts.", he shuffles.
I notice he's looking at me directly as he says this, not Blaise. I think Blaise notices it too.
"It's beautiful Draco. Do you come up here often?", I ask breaking the tension.
"Sometimes, when I need to clear my head. I usually go when everyone's asleep though".
"So that's where you go!", Blaise exclaims.
"Thought you were just going to the bathroom in the middle of the night".
"For hours at a time?", Draco raises an eyebrow.
"Maybe a midnight shower?", Blaise says cheekily.
I laugh and sit down on the ground gazing up at the moon.
"How did you know it was a full moon tonight Draco?", I ask.
"I keep track", he blushes.
"You're so secretive", Blaise says, sitting down as well.
"What do you mean?", he asks.
"Sort of like you live a secret life sometimes mate", he yawns.
Draco's face freezes for a moment. He sits down next to me.
"It's cold out here", I shiver.
"Accio blanket", Draco murmurs.
A dark green blanket appears before me.
"Someone's been practicing their magic", says Blaise.
"You haven't?", Draco grins.
"Pft, you know me. I don't have to. Comes naturally", he brags.
Draco chuckles deeply at this.
"You're so funny sometimes Blaise".
"I try my best", he laughs.
"I've never been up here at nighttime", I whisper.
"Me neither", says Blaise.
"It's peaceful", I glance at Draco.
"That's why I come here. To think and also to not think", he murmurs.

The next morning is the first day of third year classes. First off we have care of magical creatures which most of my friends are taking. I head out to breakfast and sit next to the trio for a change.
"How are we this morning", I say biting into some toast.
"Tired and hungry", Ron grumbles.
"Okay", says Harry neutrally.
"Excited", says Hermione.
"Of course you are", Ron complains.
"Hey, first class is care of magical creatures. What's not to be excited about?", I say defensively.
"You two scare me sometimes", Ron says.
"Did you hear Hagrid's teaching it this year", Harry says.
"Yes I'm so happy for him. He's probably a nervous wreck though", I say.
"He is. But he'll do fine. I swear if Malfoy pulls anything...", He stops abruptly.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to..".
"It's fine, don't worry. I'll make sure he's on his best behavior", I smile.
"Thank you", Harry grins.

Hagrid leads us outside for our first lesson. People whisper excitedly and I stand next to Draco and Blaise as he begins to pull out a large animal that I have never seen before, only in pictures.
"Hagrid! Is that a hippogriff?!", I shout in utter shock.
"It is indeed (Y/N). Ten points for Slytherin!", he smiles ignoring my clear discomfort.
Hagrid goes on with the lesson, most people now backing away from the creature as they realize its danger.
"(Y/N), since you know so much about Hippogriffs, come and say ello to Buckbeak", he says cheerfully.
"what?", I exclaim.
"Don't be shy. Come forward slowly, head bowed".
I do as I'm told, not moving my head an inch so as not to aggravate her.
She bows her head slowly.
"Now you can pet her if ya like", he says.
I lift my hand out slowly and gently stroke her head. She nuzzles against me. Hagrid begins to clap and the rest of the students join in.
"Go on (Y/N)!", shouts Blaise.
I laugh.
"Now, we're gonna be taking turns riding her. You can demonstrate", he points at me.
"Huh? WHAT?", I scream as Hagrid lifts me up onto the back of Buckbeak.
He slaps her gently and without warning we are no longer on the ground and the class becomes small little specks.
"AHHHH!", I scream.
"HAGRID!".
I hear gasps below me.
I cling onto the birds feathers for dear life as she speeds up. Adrenaline rushes through me like blood and I slowly release my hands from her feathers. I throw them up into the air and scream with joy as we fly above and around the Hogwarts grounds.
"THIS IS INSANE!", I scream as I pass by a group of gaping first years.
With grace, Buckbeak finally lands back on the ground beside Hagrid.
My friends run towards me and I fix my wind struck hair.
"That was incredible Hagrid!", I beam.
"(Y/N), (Y/N), (Y/N)!", Harry begins to chant and the class begins to join in.
I laugh as Hagrid instructs the class to form a line.
Some people stay back but most fight for the first spot.
"Are you okay?", Ron asks.
"Yes. That was amazing.", I say.
"You looked amazing.", Hermione says.
"True", Harry adds and I grin.
"You guys have to try it, line up right now", I insist.
"I need to find Draco".
I look around but Draco is nowhere to be seen.
Blaise comes rushing up to me. "(Y/N), he's gone. I don't know where I was too busy watching and he just disappeared.", Blaise says hurriedly.
"He's gone? Why?", I ask.
"I have no idea", Blaise shrugs.
"Its fine. I know where he'll be".
