Lucky pulled up outside of the beauty supply store, Tyra's job. After seeing her walk out he drove up in front of her scaring her, "What the fuck! You almost hit me!" He rolled down his window, "Get yo ass in the car girl!" She rolled her eyes and quickly got in and he drove away.
Lucky was just following ordered but he knew the words that Travis would tell Tyra would only scare her, "Look, I know you got some weird shit going on with Travis, me and you both know that dude crazy. However what you did got his ass fucked up." Tyra looked at him, "What happened?" He sighed as he kept driving, "There was a drive by, T got shot up, his mom dead...we lost a few folks and T....he can't walk. Ever." Tyra held back tears, she didn't sign up for anyone being killed, or for women being raped and beaten in the street, "I just thought you should know." Tyra wiped and escaped tear, "I ain't ask for all this, I just wanted a quick come up that's all. Travis said he had a record deal and was making mad money." Lucky laughed, "Record deal? That man delusional, he got a shout out on a song from an underground artist. Nigga don't even got a mixtape." Tyra felt played, not only did people die, but it was all due to Tyra being in the mix of something she wanted nothing to do with, "Where are you taking me?" Lucky pulled up the hospital, "I still got orders to take. T wanna see you." She looked up at the hospital and for once since knowing him she didn't feel scared but just used and angry.
Darnell looked at his phone, 2:59pm. He walked toward the docks, the sound of seagulls flying above. The ocean splashing against the side of the docks, he saw someone standing leaning against the metal frame. Walking slowly up to him he started to say something but the mystery man started first, "Darnell Washington, leader of the savage gang Mob City Gangsters, aspiring investor, and rents 3 condos in this very city." Darnell looked at him and was beginning to get frustrated, "Nigga who the fuck is you?" Darnell asked and Derek turned to face him, "I'm your landlord of 1 of 3 condos you are renting out and I am here not only to tell you what's going to happen now but what will happen in the future." Darnell scoffs and begins to laugh, "So what you supposed to be scaring me?" Derek shrugged, "No, just want you to do me some favors or the money you had stashed away is taken and seized to the police just like that 30 pounds of cocaine hidden amongst the money." Darnell stopped laughing, "Now see that's where you got shit fucked up." Darnell walked up on him and Derek laughed, suddenly he stopped hearing the click of a gun, "Now don't let this suit and smooth talk fool you. I don't play. And I will, if needed, to kill you in a heart beat." Darnell smirked and looked Derek up and down, shocked at how tough he is despite his appearance, "Alright...boss man, so what you want with me?" Derek smirked, "You now work for me, I need someone like you who has an inside to the grove. I want to make the Grove bigger than Mob City and with my power and money it can happen." Darnell chuckled, "Man you could have had a whole business meeting if that's what you wanted, you ain't have to take my money for that." Derek sucked his teeth, "Mmm there is just one more thing, you stay the hell away from Adina." Darnell suddenly felt the urge to push Derek into the water, "Oh so you the new nigga huh?" Derek nodded, "Mmm, well you know what, there is nothing you can say to me about Adina. You want this little deal then fine, but Adina..." Derek cut him off, "How much is she worth to you? You want this money then you stay away. Or maybe I'll just tell her who the person was behind buying all the properties she was interested in." Darnell scoffed and turned his back, he thought about how much he needed that money and also thought about the consequences he would face if she found out. "Alright, alright bet." Derek nodded and walked away, "I'll know how to reach you. Oh and that money...its in the closet of the condo, next to the bathroom." Darnell almost pulled out his gun, the money was there the whole time had he just took the time to look around. And now he has created a deal that he can't even back out of.*************************************************
Tyra walked into the hospital room, seeing Travis sitting in the bed on his phone. She was scared, this is someone who beat her when he felt like it. Did whatever he wanted to do with her and threw money at her to justify the pain he inflicted. He looked up and waved her to come in, walking in she closes the door and sits in the chair farthest from him. "Why you dodging my calls and my texts." She didn't answer him, "Oh so you just suddenly don't feel like responding and yet you spend my money?" Tyra looked at him tears rolling down her face, "People are dead Travis, your mother is dead and for what?" Travis rolled his eyes, "She knew the risk." Tyra stood up in disgust, "Knew the risk? Like what her son being apart of some bullshit gang going against a real gang and a shoot out happening because of it? No Travis it's because of you, all of this, is because of you." He tried to sit up and grab her but he winced in pain. "No more, no more of you throwing your money and your hands in my face, with yo broke ass." Travis glared at her, "Watch what you say. Don't act like I ain't got hitters close by waiting." Tyra scoffed, "You ain't gonna do shit, you ain't even got a record deal. Besides, would you have them beat me, while I'm carrying your child?" Travis looked at her with shock. "You lying." She grabs the test from her bag and throws it at him. "Read it and weep." He didn't know what to think, this is the last thing he needs at this moment.
Monica was watching her mom who slept on the couch in Luther's house. She wondered what her mom was dreaming about, if she even had dreams anymore. "Monica...can I talk to you for a minute?" She heard Luther ask and she nodded as she walked into the kitchen, "I wanted to say thank you. For bringing her here." Luther looked at Monica, he knew in his heart that he didn't want Monica on the streets and definitely not with Omar being around, "A month and some change has gone by and you have brought me a lot of money. However, I don't want you out in the street no more." Monica was confused, she didn't particularly enjoy her side job, but now Luther is telling her no. "What do you mean?" Luther walked closer to her and caressed her face, "You're mine. Mine only. I made our money and I have enough right now, besides the work the other girls putting in, everything is stable. I don't want you working much at the club either unless I'm there." A sweet feeling of protection washed over her, looking up at his light brown eyes, she felt a serene sense of safety. Something about Luther made Monica feel warm, a familiarity she couldn't place. "Okay, whatever you want baby." He smiled at her and kissed her soft lips and all felt right with their world for just a moment.
