Kara was laying on her bed, her hands resting on her stomach just above where her new piercing was. She was looking up at the faded stars on the ceiling, most of them have been taken down, but a few were still there. She wondered if the stars really had been taken down, or if they had just simply fallen. Lacy walks into the room, laying down on the bed next Kara in a similar manner. A half smirk on her face, "so, I heard you pulled a Saddie today."
"What," Kara's pulled from her thoughts, "what does that even mean?"
Lacy shrugs, "you know, just doing something reckless without thinking bit through." When she says this, Kara lightly touches her bellybutton ring, hissing when the light pressure leads to a stinging sensation.
Kara closed her eyes, thinking about how it was probably now infected because of that disgusting couch, and lack of attention to detail when it came to sterilization. "They took my phone," Kara says sighing, thinking about how now she can't even tell Nate that her parents said no to their date.
"Yeah, mom and dad tend to do that when you break one of their rules." She says dryly, and Kara rolls her eyes.
"It's so unfair," Kara exclaims, first they watch her constantly, then they make her change schools, tell her she can't go out with Nate, and now she can't even talk to her Friends because they took her phone.
"Oh, you mean convincing our parents to let you go to school today, only to the skip school and hangout in some abandoned factory with your friends while you get an illegal piercing that's probably infected," her sister states "yeah, it's so unfair that they actually punished you."
Kara looks over at her, "your not helping," she's slightly surprised that lacy seems to be upset with her.
Lacy turns her head to look at her too, "I'm not trying to help," she then sighs, "look, I get that you have a lot going on, and that your probably feeling lost, but cut mom and dad some slack, they've been through a lot too." Kara looks away when her sister says this, part of her knows that she's right, that her parents are only over protective of her because of what they've been through, but it still sucked. It felt like she was being punished for coming forward about who she really was, or who she used to be is what it felt more like. "They understand that all of this is probably a little hard on you though. Which is why they asked me to take you to the movies Saturday."
Kara looks back over surprised, "wait what?" Was her sister telling her what she thought.
Lacy smiles, "they want to meet Nate before hand, but yeah, they're okay with you going bad long as I'm there to "chaperone," even if one of us did what you did today we would definitely be grounded right now" Lacy did feel a little upset by the fact that Kara was receiving special treatment, but she also understood why, so she wasn't that upset by it.
"Really?, Their letting me go on my date, even after everything I did today?" She sits up, forgetting her anger toward her parents.
Lacy sits up to, nodding, "yep, I guess they're trying not to be too helicoptery. You should really apologize to them though." Lacy watches her, wondering if she'll take her advice.
Kara looks down, "yeah, okay." She swings her legs over the bed, standing up. "Besides, I'm pretty sure this thing is infected and I was going to have to talk then anyways." She lifts her shirt up to show her bright red skin around where the piercing is, now noticing a bit of pus and cringing.
"Yeah, mom should probably take a look at that." Lacy agrees standing up too.
Once down stairs, Kara's sitting on the bathroom counter, holding her shirt up while her mother cleans it, taking the ring out, to clean it more effectively. "What you did today-"
