Moonlight's pov

I stood frozen in place until something, probably their scent, clicked in my head and I finally knew who was standing in the doorway.

Giving a yip of joy, quite unlike me by the way, I darted forward and tackled Brainwave to the ground.

'How are you my friend! It has been a long time!' I asked her.

Just as she was about to answer I was knocked over by Hurricane.

Growling happily, I got up and started sniffing him as he did the same to me. When we were done exchanging scents again we wrestled a little until Brainwave interrupted.

"Come back here Hurricane. We need to get Evening-star now before shes taken by The Core."

'I'm afraid Vision's information is out of date because that has already happened. a long while ago actually. Come inside and explain what she saw would be the repercussions if
Evening-star was taken by them.'

All 5 of their guests followed Moonlight past a very confused looking Storm and an intrigued looking Xavier and into the main living room.

"Well let's see." Re-Wind started.
"Vision said that if The Core takes her, you will eventually be told to stay here with them as she joins some other mutant group. Without you there with her to help guide and protect her, a war will eventually break out."

'A war!! Great.' I said, sarcasm dripping.

"Would you mind explaining how you know these people, Moonlight?" Xavier asked, looking quite flustered.

'About 6 years ago Evening-star's father died in a chemical explosion she accidentally triggered. She was devastated that she caused his death and tried to go into self-isolation.

Key word being tried.

'The Mutant Protectors found out about her when she had an outburst of her mutant powers while running from mutant haters. They took us in, trained us, helped us coop with the loss.

'Until one day, someone asked something about her mother. She went frantic and went to go find out were she was. By the time we got there, her mother was to far gone.'

"What about her mutant healing ability?" Hank interjected. "Didn't you say it could heal anything as long as that person wasn't already dead?"

'Yes. And she could have healed her. But Evening-star was to caught up with what her mother said to form any coherent thoughts, much less concentrate on her energy enough to heal her.

'Don't get me wrong, she felt really guilty about it, but she felt to numb most of the time to even take care of herself.

'She went back to the Mutant Protectors and buried herself in helping other mutants with their problems. These people here helped her deal with so much. So I hope that answers your question on how I now these people. I know them because they are the only people who were ever friends with Evening-star.'

Getting up from my sitting spot I sauntered toward the doorway.

'Now if we're good here, lets go find Evening-star before this war starts.'

Hey y'all!!!

Sorry it's short but this is sorta a filler and a way to insert some characters into the book.

The next chapter will be longer I promise but it will take longer.

Night, have fun!

-Motzie out, peace✌️
