"WHAT DID YOU DO do, Korelia?" Lady Allura stated, hands on her hips in a motherly matter."I fell." The young princess answered. She moved to grab her dress, her naked back on display with a large haunting purple and yellow bruise covering her lower back.
"From a house or something!?" Lady Kima laughed, sitting down on a sofa placed in the princesses bedroom.
Korelia looked over at the older woman, her face ridden with an amused guilty expression.
"Princess Korelia!" Allura huffed. Korelia gave a chuckle, quickly moving to put on her dress and fit herself into the gown. Allura sighed, hitting Kima over the head as the halfling laughed at what happened to the girl.
"Korelia, I know you want to do what is righ-"
"There is no time for a lecture, Lady Allura. You and Lady Kima have a council meeting to attend and I have princess duties." Korelia spoke, shoving past the older woman to gather her things for the day. A metal staff laid on her bed, the heavy metal creating a crease in the bed folding. Allura watched with tired eyes as the girl glanced at the weapon, the woman sighing.
"Opium cannot protect you from everything. As can we, Princess." She stated. "You came to us for advice and so we will give it to you. What will happen come the day that an injury is noticeable? Or worse, you don't come back at all?"
"I have a lot to learn, I know that. Staying inside the castle won't help me find what I am looking for." Korelia told them. With a look at each other, Kima and Allura both gave a nod of their heads.
"We will talk later. Have a good day Princess." Allura said. Kima gave the princess a nod and walked out after the human woman.
A tweet brought Korelia out of her stupor, a smile gracing her lips as she perched a hand up to allow the bird to land. It flew in through her open window, small in size but bright in color.
"Hello, Opi." She smiled, finger gently caressing the blue jay's head. It nuzzled against her, eyes closed in affection. He suddenly jerked up, feathers pluming out and wings outstretched. It flapped it's right wing, picking at the place she had taken a feather from the bird on her staff just the night before.
"I see." Korelia walked up to her window, eyes gazing down at the castle steps. There was a group of people walking up, all tired from the night and dirty from something. The half elven man she had given the feather to was twirling it around in his hand, an unconscious thing he must've picked up on. She smiled, placing the bird down onto the window sill.
"I think meeting them properly would be a splendid idea." They gave each other a bow, Korelia walking towards her door and Opium flapping his wings to lead out of the castle.
"Princess Korelia, it is time to take measurements for your dress."
"Oh no."
The shadow of a bird cast on the group making their way up the stairs, though the only one who took notice was the white haired human. Percy glanced up, catching the underside of the small bird flying away from his view. He took note of the animal, believing it to be odd that such a creature would be alone all the way out here.
"-But the bear waits outside." Percy turned back to the group in front of him, the guards going to open the door for all of them to walk in. He heard Vex talk to her pet, but he was rather focused on glancing around the large castle and taking in the decor.
"We must begin on working on your dress for the upcoming gala." The group was shoved apart, quickly being moved to cover whoever it ws that shoved past them.
A group of four or so people walked past, making faces at Vox Machina and covering their noses from the stench. They whispered among each other, glaring, before walking away, going back to whoever it was they were looking for.
Once the group was far enough, the person who rushed up to Vox Machina suddenly pushed through, a large gasp coming from their mouths.
"Are you seriously going to walk into the council room looking like that?" She asked, hand holding onto her nose.
"Who the fuck are you?" Vex'ahlia spoke, hand on her hip. She glared at the girl, said girl not paying the lady any mind.
"She's wearing a dress. A crown." Scanlan gasped. "It's the princess guys!" He shouted.
Vox Machina looked surprised, but quickly followed to bow to the girl. Well everyone except Vex who kept glaring at her as if she had insulted her entire existence. Korelia blushed, looking around to keep from making eye contact with the group.
"Ah yeah. I am." She stiffly laughed. Her eyes were glancing around the lobby, feeling small in the eyes of the mercenaries.
"I didn't think I would get the chance to meet the princess when I came in here. How about when we finish talking with the sovereign you and me, ya know." Korelia looked down at Scanlan with an uncomfortable expression.
"It's talking to me." She said, looking up at the group. Percy was the first to react and quickly shoved Scanlan away from the girl.
"Forgive him, Princess. He has his-" Both Percy and the princess turned to look at Scanlan. He jutted his hips out and gave the girl a wink.
"Never mind him." Korelia said, looking back at the human. "Judging by how you look-"
"Well what's that suppose to mean?" Vex snarled.
"You are probably here to talk with the council. Allow me to offer you some hospitality. Please why don't you all come and wash off before your meet with any of them." Korelia asked, ignoring Vex who seemed to glare harder.
"That would be very much appreciated, Princess." Percy told her. The girl looked him, a blush coming over her features as she took a closer look at him.
"Call me Korelia." She smiled at him, the man in question giving one back. "Follow me." She told them, walking along the hallways of the castle to the bathing rooms.
"I do not like that girl." Vex said, arms crossed as she followed behind her group of comrades.
"You don't like anyone." Pike joked, keeping with the men who seemed to follow much too close to the princess.
"Well I don't particularly like this one more."
"She's a princess, Vex. What harm could she possibly do?" Keyleth asked. Before they knew it, the men were separated from the woman, their bathing rooms on the opposite side of the hall.
"If there is anything you might need, please feel free to ask the staff. I will make sure you get whatever it is you might want."
"Thank you, Princess. Your kindness is too much." Percy spoke politely. He than gave his comrades a pointed stare, nodding his head towards the girl to get them to say thank you.
With both bright and lazy thank yous, the group separated. Korelia watched as Vax'ildan still held the feather in his hand, the barbs turning and flashing against the light of the sun. With a smile, she walked away from the bathing rooms, seemingly fond to know what the outcome might be for the meeting with Vox Machina and the council of Tal'Dorei.
