KORELIA WAVED HER staff around, shaking the end to drop Scanlan on the ground. The gnome grunted, mumbling about having been handled terribly. But that was quickly dispersed as he took in the surrounding area. The cave was dark, the jagged rocks covered in ice and other things.
"So cold," Keyleth spoke. "What is this place?"
"Here." Korelia said, shoving a ball of personal heat towards the elven girl. Keyleth blushed, a smile taking her face as she moved her hands in front of the ball. Pike and Grog moved closer as well, trying to warm themselves up.
"High in the mountains, I'd say." Vex told everyone, breath coming out in condensation. The group walked forward, trailing alond to find a cliff at the end.
"Where ever we are, we're far from Emon." Vax said as they looked over the edge of the cliff.
The light glittered, the stuff on the ground causing it to reflect off the surface. It was a wonder, looking at all the colors that shined when light hit it.
"No way!" Scanlan said astounded. "Gold!"
"Gold!" Vex, Pike, and Grog cheered in a manic manner. They all rushed down the cliff, practically tripping over their feet as they tried to go down the side. Keyleth took her time, casually descending the slope. Percy looked around however, finding the place a bit odd.
"A bit excessive for a council member." He said, Vax giving him a smirk.
"Seems excessive for anyone." Vax climbed down after Keyleth, Percy giving the area one more scan before moving along as well.
As he reached the bottom though, he turned back to Korelia, lending a hand out to help her down.
"I find this a bit odd." She told him, hand clenching onto his as she walked down.
"Yes well, in the eyes of the poor is would seem that way." Percy told her.
"No this is beyond too much. Council member or not." She glanced around some more, the pulsating magic coming off each gold peice making her frown. "There's magic everywhere."
As she tried to reach out to touch a piece of gold, she was suddenly shocked. Her fingers twitched and flickered pink in retaliation to the shock. The realization hit her, the one shock enough to make her understand what the treasure was for.
"Stop! Drop everything! Don't touch it!" She shouted, rushing towards the group. They all looked at her oddly, half of them actually doing what she said. Vex looked around at the gold, finally concluding why Korelia had shouted at them to drop everything.
"This gold didn't fall out of the fucking sky!" She scold herself. "This is a horde!"
"We're in a dragon's lair." Korelia finished for Vex. Vox Machina suddenly looked at each other, carefully going about touching the treasure.
