Chapter 24: Nature's Hike

We arrived to the mansion then came down walking to the entrance, we entered and Kenneth took the blueberries to the kitchens counter then he looked at us saying, "Glad you guys enjoyed the blueberry picking...we better get some rest for tomorrows hike" we agreed with him then Eve said, "uncle Kenneth can we go inside the pool?" Kenneth smiled and lifted Eve up saying, "Of course, you can. No need for permission" the three girls cheered happily and left to change then Rhett said, "Brother, my wife and I need to talk. Do you mind watching the triplets for a bit, we won't take long" Kenneth nodded then replied, "No, I don't mind at all. I'll be in the pool anyway" then I replied, "Is the pool deep?" he then answered, "No, it isn't. Don't worry." We understood then the girls came to hug Kenneth and he chuckled saying, "Alright, now who wants to get in the pool with me" they cheered and left.

Rhett and I chuckled then left to our room and closed the door, then I sat on the bed then looked at Rhett saying, "What's the matter?" he sat next to me and answered, "Yesterday in the blueberry field, while we waited for Kenneth to come back I got a strange feeling that a group of people were staring at us. When I turned I saw 5 figures and were talking about us" I thought a moment then replied, "How do you know that they were talking about us?" then he answered, "I could sense it." I thought a moment then replied, "What did they look like?" Rhett tried to remember then said, "I don't know...they had hoods on...but their eyes did glow" I looked at his lavender eyes saying, "What color?" then he replied, "yellow, silver, and red" I thought a moment then said, "I see..." at that moment, Rhett remembered something and said, "Stacia, remember when Tigress mentioned something about a new enemy?" then I replied, "Yes, why?" he looked at me then answered, "I think this may be it, but this time they aren't vampires" I wasn't really sure what he meant so I stood their thinking quietly and replied, "Could it be...Herschel again?" he nodded replying, "No, or else we should of known by now...unless..." then I looked at him "Unless what?" I asked. Then he thought a moment and replied, "They can be devils or fallen angels" my eyes widened but I took a deep breath to calm down replying, "How odd...what would they want with us?" he didn't answer and we went to sleep.

The next day Rhett woke up at 10:13 am while I was still asleep, he looked at me with a smile caressing my hair then wrapped his arms around me and whispered, "My Stacia" I didn't hear him but I did understand what he meant then smiled in my sleep saying, "I love you...My Rhett" he kissed my forehead replying, "I love you two" and he hugged me. A few minutes later I woke up slowly while he pulled me close while I sat up saying, "Morning, love." He smiled replying, "Morning, honey." I smiled softly and realized it was 11:00 am then I looked at the window seeing that I was cloudy and perfect for a small hike that's when we remembered that Kenneth invited us to one then I looked at him and said, "We better get ready for the hike I don't want to keep them waiting" but before I could get up Rhett pulled me close to him then I looked at him saying, "oh Rhett...heh" he kissed my cheek then said, "relax babe, were in vacation let's wait a little longer for the girls to wake up. Come on, you need to learn to relax." I chuckled softly then layed back down.

After a few other minutes Rhett and I stood up and got ready and walked to the girls room, Athena was drawing while Heather and Eve were playing happily Rhett and I smiled then I said, "Morning girls" they faced us then ran to hug us as we hugged them back then Rhett said, "You girls ready for the hike?" they cheered happily then Eve got close to me then I smiled and carried her in my arms while Rhett held Heather and walked to the dining room where Kenneth and Keheia were waiting for us patiently we looked at them and smiled sitting down and Kenneth said, "Morning, brother and family" how did you sleep?" I smiled answering, "Morning, very well thanks." He smiled and we all sat on the table and began to serve.
