The sound of the wall clock in Y/n's cabin reverberated like a roar in the wild since the building of her law firm was consumed by darkness and silence. The low whistle of the air conditioner was the only thing that kept the environment durable and sane.

Y/n's face wore resentment staring into the eyes of the woman before her. The woman was short compared to Y/n, honey complexion complimenting her hazy eyes, curly hair sprouting here and there although she tried her best twisting them into a low bun.

Sighing Y/n uttered, "Can't you-"

"No," The female was quick to deny whatever Y/n intended to vocalize.

"Look, Ms.Lee-"

"I'm sorry, Ms.Min," She purses her lips into a line and shook her head.

Y/n leaned back into the leather chair, hands steepled in front of her, eyes blinking and lips fallen flat agonizing the situation she found herself. And she remembered why she never opted for a personal assistant, simply because she found them intervening, a trait she loathes.

Sighing she reminded herself why after all these years now there's a need to appoint one and the extra work she went through to pick the woman before her; Lee Yera, Y/n's personal assistant.

-Three weeks earlier-

With every muscle aching and hours of endless work visible below her eyes as dark bags, Y/n fell onto the floor scattered with papers. A relished sigh escaped as she spared her body a moment of relaxation. A depression had hit the stock market a few days ago and the economy of South Korea was uproaring with conflicts inflicting companies to push their limits, the cause was interpreted to be a bull market.

(Quick economic lessons;

Depression refers to a state or condition of a market, product, currency, or security characterized by slumping prices, low volume, and lack of buyers. It usually represents a prolonged period of low prices and activity.

A bull market is one in which prices are generally expected to rise. A bull is an investor who expects prices to rise and, on this assumption, purchases a security or commodity in hopes of reselling it later for a profit.

Papers ruffled in and out of the files, some left floating on the floor, some orderly arranged into stacks, amidst them laid Y/n painting a picture of a worn-out yet hard-working woman. Her hands ransacked through the papers fishing for her phone, and soon it laid on her palm. Y/n stared at the familiar contact on the bluescreen with mind rearing through the plan she sketched and words that needed to be twisted.
