Like any other day in Seoul, the heaven and land were weaved together with threads of water but somewhere among the group of black umbrellas, colourful ones blossomed and there were light, playful lights that danced between the clouds every now and then.

As usual, the rain stutters against the hospital windows tuning into a rhythm, every note seeking to comfort Y/n but the song went unheard as chuckles engulfed her room.

"I baked some cookies," Yera sang, handing out a box filled with chocolatey goodness.

"Thank you," Y/n received the box, waiting no second to grab a piece and stuff it into her mouth as you would do.

One bite in and her nose scrunched up, her tongue surged into a state of comma and a gag almost threatened to spill, but her lips stretched into a line in an attempt to smile as the sickening sweet saliva collected on her mouth.

With a single glance at her face, anyone could tell how crooked her smile was and so did Yera, "Oh dear, that must be my batch," Yera giggled on seeing how convoluted and adorable Y/n's face was. She passed a few tissues to discard the eaten cookie.

"How do you eat that much sugar?!" Cried Y/n, spitting out the bite as a shiver slid down her skin.

"You're the one to speak with your tongue-numbing roasted bean water," Yera retorted.

"It's called coffee"

Ignoring Y/n, Yera pulled out another box and proffered a new piece of cookie, "This one is for you"

Cocking an eyebrow at Yera, Y/n hesitantly accepted the food and nibbled on it. On sinking her teeth into the cookie, she found layers of soft and chewy goodness embedded beneath a shell of crisp. Her traumatized face instantly beamed like the sun after a storm, "That's so good! I didn't know you baked so well"

"Just a hobby to keep me sane," Yera gave a casual shrug and proceeded to munch on her batch of awfully sweet cookies.

"I don't think that much sugar is sane," Commented Y/n, receiving a nonchalant eye roll from Yera.

It has been a week and four days since Y/n woke up.
A week and four days since she found herself in the hands of delight.
And a week and four days since a gnawing creature commenced to stir her gut for the hours seemed too peaceful to be real.

Amidst the turmoil of Y/n caused by the messy intertwine of chaotic events, from her foolish avow to the mysterious suspension of the riot, she found mirth, she found Yera. Whether it was to hunt for her forgiveness or uplift a sense of trust, unclear were Yera's motives for she had been too open, daringly open that she could be scouting for her death.

On the other side, her husband has been projecting her ounces of affection. Jimin made sure to visit her often. He could be seen hanging around her every lunch. The warmth did nothing but set her soul on fire. The guilt and betrayal burnt the walls of her heart.
