My plan for this story has gone to utter chaos

I'M LITERALLY HAVING TO ADD IN ANOTHER CHAPTER BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I WILL BECAUSE I WANT TANGO'S PERSPECTIVE ON SOMETHING BUT I ALSO WANT GRIAN'S PERSPECTIVE FOR THE LAST CHAPTER BECAUSE THEN THE ENTIRE SERIES WOULD START AND END WITH GRIAN BUT I COULD ALSO DO THE EPILOGUE FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE BUT I WANT THAT TO BE SOMETHING ELSE AND AHHHHHH

Anyway, let's get on with the chapter.

Whatever I was expecting, I was wrong.

That should've been obvious from the entrance to the base being through a WALL. Cub confidently leads, confused for a moment at the sight before remembering.

'Just follow behind. It's not an actual wall.'

'Magic?'

'Probably. But whatever it is, it provided an awful lot of safety...'

I nod back.

'Safety from the people outside the maze... who wanted safety from you. I forgot how messed up this place was...' I mutter, looking down. When my focus returns, Cub's gone through, and Scar's waiting for me.

'Ready?'

I nod back, deciding to take a run up. I dash forwards, closing my eyes, ignoring all instinct that I'm going to crash...where even is this wall?! I should've passed it by now and-

I open my eyes, suddenly stopping as I realise I've gone through. Then it's a matter of trying to take it all in.

There's blue everywhere- a glowing, shifting blue floor, a blue bed, blue posters and banners strew across the walls, even a blue hammock. Chests and shulker boxes, overflowing with random objects, half eaten cakes, mess everywhere.

'Nice place.' Is all I can say. Cub nods back.

'For what we had, it's pretty good. And somehow the 'nothing' that we knew included how I made the Convex banners.' I look over at them - blue wool with a white vex face on.

'Season 5?' I guess.

'And a bit in Season 6. ConCorp was still the Convex. And if there's one thing Vexlings like it's vex faces everywhere... anyway, let's find what we need.' Laid on one of the chests is a pair of black robes with gold lining. With an uneasy prickle I remember the pain wearing them when trying to kill us before. Scar notices my reaction, and explains with a sigh.

'If we're going to kick everyone's butts and escape, we should probably do it looking like they wanted us to.'

'Like monsters.' Cub interrupts. There's a bitter tone to his voice I don't think I've ever hears from him before. 'Freaks. Creatures that can cause chaos and nothing else.'

'Cub...' Scar steps towards his friend. His fellow vexling steps away.

'They forced us to kill people. They forced ME to kill people. And they made me watch as S**T happened, knowing that it was ALL MY FAULT.'

'Cub, it wasn't that bad.'

'How do you do it, Scar? How do you always stay so positive?!' Cub turns to Scar. Tears shine in his eyes. 'After everything that happened?! Skizz, Jimmy, you being close to death the entire time... having to ask them for help... and then knowing you were gone. That it was my fault. That it was all my fault that you ended up dead and in a different place and... and...'

'I... I don't know.'

There's a moment of quiet where the two are facing each other. Scar's looking at the ground. Cub's looking at him, waiting for a better answer, before giving up with a sigh.
