Alice's POV

As soon as I entered the bus all eyes turned to me. I ended up fidgeting with my hair. The man who I assumed was the head officer who looked quite big and broad eyed me "Take a seat miss."

I didn't refuse. I did however have to search because nearly all seats were taken.

"You can sit here." A shy female voice spoke.
I turned to see a small red head girl in a dress with a seat spare next to her.

I smiled gratefully at her, "Thank you! What's your name?" I wanted to try and get to know people and get used to this.

She smiled replying "Beth, what's yours?"

"Alice." I answered her returning a smile.

"How are you feeling about this?" She questioned. "Are you happy with getting a pet vampire?" She questioned again.

I just turned my head and stared into nothing particular while replying. "Terrified. Although I have a feeling most people are scared of the king mainly."

She nodded her head fast "I don't blame them! I feel the same!"

We continued our conversation on the bus for what felt like hours. But I know it wouldn't be long until we'd enter hell itself.

As I was walking out with the rest of the bunch of people with Beth close by I looked up at the tall black dark building. It looked awful. I can't believe this is my life now!

"Students! You must all be well behaved! Try not to anger any vampires!!" Was the officers demands coming from the front which students started shouting "Ok" and "Yes sir"

He looked pleased when everyone agreed to listen to his orders. "Now, we will be having a tour around the prison. But don't worry it's not that big." He ended his words with a light laugh.

We had already started heading towards the building I heard students all whispering and chatting as we neared the entrance. That was until we were standing directly outside the front entrance.

We all eyed the officer who was fiddling with the keys until voila! The door opened. And the first thing that came to sight was a hall way. A very long hallway at that.

There was so many doors. I noticed one right at the end which seemed different most were all metal with a slide in for communication this cell or whatever was just metal with a red warning danger sign on it.

It didn't take a genius to figure out who it lead to. Beth noticed this also "Do you think the king is in that room?" She questioned curiously but with a hint of fear in her tone.

My answer came out nonchalantly "Yes."

We ended up getting shown up the hallway there was cells with vampires in with a human next to them. Is that their chosen? Or their guard?

We were nearly at the bottom of the hall revealing the metal door which read DANGER. But before we entered there I didn't notice a door beside it. The officer showed us through there and it lead to a kitchen and a sitting room with a games room.

Damn, I didn't expect it to be this much, there was a human girl and a guy in the games room playing chess. They had both looked up to see us and smiled. I smiled back, they seemed friendly enough.

The officer then cleared his through "This is Jose and her vampire Gabe!" He exclaimed. What the hell. I didn't know they let them walk around without cuffs, I think to myself.

~~

As we were retrieving back to the hall the officer then gave us a stern look. He looked deadly serious about whatever he was about to announce.

"Lastly we have this room." He said while motioning to the metal door with DANGER written on it. The one I assumed the vampire king was in, I think I was correct since we haven't saw him in any of the other cells when passing.

He cleared his throat before going on to explain "This is where the vampire king is kept for safety reasons. You may hear that he gets treat differently from the others but that's not true."

Shit ...we're not going in there are we?! Was the only thing I was thinking while glancing at all the peoples horrified faces.

"Come, we need to try and pick one human to be with him, or is there anyone interested?" Everybody was terrified to answer some were shaking at the thought of being in proximity with the creature never mind being with it 24/7.

When nobody answered the officer spoke then "Well then, that's understandable."

Duhh?? Of course it is this vampire has been known to KILL. Shaking my head at my thoughts I heard metal clicking.  The door was open.

Good job I was at the very back of the line. I could here the king growling loudly and snarling not liking the intrusion.

As soon as I was able to enter the view was one word. Wow.

He was growling and being vicious thrashing around. But his body was huge! If I thought the guards were huge then I don't know what this guy would be classed as, this guy was three times the size the size of that guard and not to mention the king wasn't even standing! He was in chains that barely fit his body. He was shirtless with his broad chest on show full with tattoos that stood out by a mile.

They must be hurting him was my thought. Also, he had dark black hair which fell over his face a bit. With a strong jaw that looked razor sharp. But his eyes they were black and I felt instantly drawn to them.

My thoughts drifted as I realized there was no more growling. The king wasn't acting vicious he seemed to have a calmer and almost softer aura surrounding him, that deadly dark aura forgotten.

I noticed he was looking directly at someone. That someone being ME!

It made me uncomfortable so I tried to hide from him. I put my long hair in my face to hide my eyes and I noticed a well built guy standing to my left I hid behind. I thought the king wouldn't notice.

That was until he started acting viciously again. It started with a low growl turning into vicious loud deadly growls and snarls and thrashing.

The officer I noticed as I peeked to have a look seemed to be in front of the chains moving his arms around like crazy. His face was red like a tomato but the king didn't listen and I couldn't control the giggle that left my mouth when I was watching the officer flapping his arms around.

This earned me the kings attention, no longer was he growling but his head was searching for the source of the noise. He also seemed to be sniffing in the air like crazy trying to find something.
