A loud ring rang out through Katsuki's headphones. He was so close to falling asleep, however, the noise had startled the poor teen awake. He rubbed his eyes and slid his hands sleepily across his bare sheets. His blanket had been discarded off somewhere. He didn't really bother with knowing whereat, it probably was best not to question it. He flinched once he was met with the bright screen of his phone. He knew that would happen, yet he did it anyway. Once his temporary blindness had faded, he looked through the scattered messages on his notification screen. He got rid of most of them then unlocked his phone. As he did, another call popped up. Normally, he would not have answered it. If anything, Kat would have ignored the call altogether and gone back to bed.
However, the angry blonde felt somewhat alone. Regardless of how much his brain told him he deserved to be alone and that he wasn't allowed to answer it, he did. It was easier due to the name tag reading shitty hair, his friend Kirishima. He watched his camera show up pitch black in the corner from his dark dorm room. After a few minutes, Kiri's screen had loaded and popped up the usually bright and happy redhead.
" Bakubro! I was worried you had gone to sleep. Could you help me with this one question?"
Katsuki didn't respond. Some shuffling was picked up from the mic of his headphones, but for the most part, he had just been looking for his blanket. His phone's camera pointed towards the ceiling while he did. He finally did after a few minutes and yanked it onto the bed.
" Bakubro?" he heard the male confused tone through his headphones, but once again he did not respond.
He flopped over onto the bed and pulled the blanket up. He stopped moving once he was finally comfortable. Unfortunately, this left the two teens in silence for several minutes.
" uhhh- dude? You alright? I know you do that weird thing with shit camera angles- but- are your lights even on? "
" No," Katsuki responded bluntly, though in a quiet and tired voice.
He could practically see the shock off Kirishima's face. He was not very good at hiding it at all, was he? Katsuki breathed out heavily, watching Kiri blink back into reality. He moved to lay on his side, his cheek pressed into the pillow he managed to find a wedge between the wall and the bed frame.
" Bakugou, seriously, what's wrong? Was it that shit they said earlier? I knew they went too far-" Kirishima went off on his rant.
" No, I'm fine," Katsuki cut the male off suddenly, watching him pout in response.
He shifted in his spot on the bed. His phone light gave off enough light that he could see his face. His nose was a bit red and his cheeks flushed from crying. His eyes seemed a bit red and puffy, but due to how red his eyes naturally are, it was difficult to tell. It's how Katsuki always got away with crying and easily being able to hide it.
" I'm fine, see?"
" Fine.." Kiri huffed out, however, he didn't buy it at all.
" What problem did you need help on?" Katsuki change the subject quickly, more than tired of talking about himself, let alone thinking about himself.
" Oh right!"
