Chapter 2: The Music Festival

Loren's Point Of View.

Kelly is behind the stage talking to some producers and video guys. See, when we got here, we learned that every thing will be filmed and in a few days uploaded online by professionals.

If I wasn't nervous before, I sure am now knowing there'll be cameras and thousands of people catching every moment and watching every move I'm making. Thankfully, I won't be the opening act, my name is number 7 on the list where there are 9 artists.

Eddie came an hour ago and is now holding me to try to calm my nerves down, but oddly, not even that helps.

"I don't think I can do this Eddie." I stare wide-eyed at the grass ground beneath me and feel as my body shakes that I want to throw up.

"Lo, look at me." Eddie takes my hand and comforts, but I continue to shake my head, my body on the edge of exploding. "Look at me." He repeats, only this time I slowly turn my focus to him. "You're gonna do fine, there's nothing to be worried about. Do you think the music festival would be sold out after two days if no-one liked your songs?"

I shake my head.

"Exactly, because they want to see you perform but they won't be able to experience that if you don't calm your nerves and go out there."

"I hate it when your right." I look down and pout. Eddie lifts my chin up and makes me look in to his eyes for a second before he kisses my lips having our eyes close at the feeling. I moan and cup his cheeks, deepening the kiss.

Panting for air, Eddie pulls away just in time for Kelly to call my name and asking for me to get the hell up on the stage. I obey and kiss Eddie one last time.

I'm on in 2 minutes and I'm actually not that nervous and frightened anymore.

"Our next performer is a new artist whom kick started her career by sending her song in to compete in the Eddie Duran song writing contest a few months ago. Little did she know she was gonna win the contest and now date Eddie himself. Give it up for Loren Tate everyone!"

I walk out on stage with my guitar in my hand, a robe fastened to it so it can hang around my neck. I wave to the audience and start to feel confident. At least more confident than like 10 seconds ago. Maybe this isn't all what I thought it was going to be.

"How are everyone?" I shout in to the microphone.

The audience screams back - loud - having me smile. I introduce myself before I begin playing and singing the first song for tonight.

"They tell me it's nice this time of year

A down on earth

But my heads been in the clouds,
I'm acting weird
I'm lost for words

Falling like the stars, I'm falling fast and hard for something out of reach." I briefly pause.

"I could be there but you wouldn't see me

Hover in the air like I'm just a daydream, oh

Why does it feel so far

Close enough to touch but you're looking through me

In the same room, a smile away feels miles from where you are

Might as well be mars."

The audience begins applauding with me as I sing, having my confidence shoot to the top.

"Never been bound by gravity
