Chapter 7: Loren Gets New Lyrics Down
Loren's Point Of View.
"You made me breakfast?" I hold my hands over my lips as I yawn.
Eddie's only wearing a pair of grey sweats over his briefs and his upper body is almost glowing as the lamp under the roof is on.
Sitting straighter up in bed, I lean against the headboard and watch as a happy Eddie puts the trey with food on to my lap.
"Yes, you looked tired so I didn't want to wake you. I made you pancakes and bacon." He sits next to me and goes under the covers.
"Thank you Eddie." I kiss his cheek and together we begin eating. The pancakes taste amazing and the bacon have an amazing crisp to them as well. Best breakfast anyone has ever made me.
After breakfast, I get out of bed and figure it's time to get dressed and ready for the day. I will be trying to write some new songs by the time I'm here and I figure today might be a good start.
When I'm fully dressed in to black jeans and a dark grey t-shirt, I smear deodorant on and spray some perfume on to my neck as well as to my hand wrists.
I'm still going to make an effort even though there's only Eddie and I here.
Melissa called a few minutes ago. She just wanted the usual which was to hear how last night went. She sounded disappointed when I told her we slept all night. Damn, she can be kinky.
Shaking my head with a small laughter, I continue to look down at my notebook where I keep my songs for only myself to read. I'm not a fan of showing anyone my unfinished lyrics. Guess it's an artist thing because Eddie's exactly the same and I know papa Max was like that as well in his younger days.
"What are you laughing about?" Eddie asks, his voice high and chirpy. By the sound of it he's smiling. My back is facing him so I can't exactly see him.
"Mel called half an hour ago asking how last night was." I lick my bottom lip, something I always do when trying to concentrate.
"How last night was?" Eddie sounds confused. He plops himself down next to me on the couch and grabs my legs, resting them on my lap. We exchange looks where I with my eyes hint to what Melissa meant by how was last night. "Oh"
"Mhm." On the inside I'm blushing hard, but as far as I know it isn't visible on my face. I keep my eyes on my block and it doesn't take long before I get frustrated and pull at the ends of my hair.
"Hey, what's going on?" Eddie takes my hands to comfort me. "What's going on?"
"This is so frustrating! I've only gotten like three words down."
Eddie looks at the paper and makes a weird face, "Actually, you only got two words down babe." He points to where I've written Loren Tate.
I roll my eyes and grab the papers out of his hands, "You're not helping." I put a hand on my forehead. "Ugh why does this have to be so hard? I used to be good at this."
"Maybe, just maybe, you're lost for inspiration."
"But I already have inspiration.." I say without mentioning who and what it is.
"Well, then take that inspiration and twist it. Turn it in to something beautiful."
Thoughts fly through my head, Eddie's words ringing like wedding bells as I lightly chug on the end of my pen. Eddie leaves me alone and short after, words finally get written down. And not just any words, but the words that describe how I felt when Eddie was gone.
