Chapter 12: Meetings

Loren's Point Of View.

I'm at home. Mom and Max slept in today so I made breakfast ready for them for when they decide to wake up and show their faces in the kitchen. Although I do think they've been awake for quite some time now. I thought I heard mom laugh earlier.

Soon enough they show their faces one by one and they seem stunned when they see me. "Good morning. Looks like you've seen a ghost." I state, setting the milk on the table and clapping my hands together. "That should be everything."

"No we're just surprised to see you up this early. And we thought you'd be at Eddies. You've been sleeping there a lot lately." Nora sits down.

"I agree with your mom Loren." Max says. He puls out a chair.

Mom looks at Max, nodding, "Oh, Lo, you forgot cups."

Max grabs three cups from the kitchen cabinet before I get the chance, and he sets them on the table with the rest of the good stuff. Let's see, we got pancakes with syrup and eggs and bacon. And tasty black coffee which I can tell from Max's expression might be a tad too black. "Sorry." I apologize. "And not just for the black coffee, but also for making you uncomfortable about my staying at Eddie's."

"We don't feel uncomfortable, we completely understand you'd wanna be with him as much as possible after you know, everything that's happened." Max starts and mom continues. "We just want you to be careful and safe."

"That's understandable." I agree, "but I just wanna be with him you know, wake up to him and go to bed with him. Thinking he was dead for almost a weak was awful. I never wanna go a whole day without him again you know? I missed him so much and I just wanna hold him all the time."

Max and mom both smile at me in complete understanding over my sudden need of being in Eddie's presence all the time. But when they look at each other with a weird look, I get the feeling they know something. "What just happened?" I squint my eyes at them.

"What? Nothing Lo, we're just happy for you and Eddie. That you're a couple." Mom gushes.

"Yes. I'm really happy he has you in his life." Max says sincerely before grabbing a bite of bacon.

"Thanks you guys, that means so much coming from you." I lean over the table and hug them both. I glance a look at Max's watch. "Oh no, I need to get ready. Eddie and I have a few meetings today. The first one's in an hour."

In my bedroom, I almost trip over a pillow on the floor as I run around trying to figure out what to wear. I decide to go with a basic black t shirt and black skinny jeans with black boots. Guess I'll be all black today. I put on a bracelet, hoop earrings and slightly add waves to my hair. Nothing crazy, just some dimension.

Someone knocks on my door so I walk out of my bathroom only to meet Eddie. I walk up to him and kiss him. My tummy swarms with butterflies, the hairs on my body raising. He pulls away, "You look incredible."

"Thank you Eddie." I blush at his sweet compliment. I compliment him too. He's wearing dark blue denim jeans for a change with a black shirt and a pair of black shoes. He looks hot.

"You're drooling." I stop staring and look in to his eyes.

"Do you blame me?" I ask smartly. "C'mon, we have to go." He grabs my hand in his and walk in to the living room together.

"There they are." Nora says.

"The rockstar lovebirds." Max chuckles.
