Getting home that night maddy had never been so mentally exhausted with everything that happened with nate and lorenzo coming out of no where.

As she looked at herself in the mirror all she could think about was all the things nate put her through and how this made her rethink her entire relationship with him. How could she have let it get this bad she felt disgusted that she still had love for him after this. She also thought about lorenzo and how she barely knew him but still came to her rescue without hesitation, but when seeing someone being abused you would hope someone would step in, but this was more than helping out a victim she saw pure anger in his eyes as his fists hit nate one after the other.

When she gave her number to him she did plan on hooking up with him just to spite nate. She saw all the ways he would look at her she wasn't stupid she knew he would look at her when walking down the halls with nate, the crease in his brows when seeing them kiss in the parking lot she saw all that.

Getting disrupted from her thoughts by a ding on her phone she looks at it confused showing a unknown number, but when she opened the message she instantly knew who it was from.

404-863-2617: i'm sorry for making you cry

  Maddy was a little shocked with the message she didn't think he would text at all especially after tonight and the fact he was the one apologizing was crazy and new to her and for some reason she felt like he was being really sincere unlike when nate would say it.  

  Me: it's ok

Was all she decided to say back. She went ahead and saved his number then put her phone down and got ready for bed, but when she layed there that night she didn't think about if nate was ok cause well fuck him,but instead thought about the guy that saved her tonight and would look at her in such a way that no guy she's ever encountered has it was foreign to her she didn't necessarily know what to think about it except that she wanted him to look at her like that more.

Getting ready for school the next morning maddy had gotten up to try and cover the bruising as much as possible not wanting to be questioned of the huge hand print on her neck. Arriving to school she tried to keep herself as low key as possible having her glasses on head down that was till she passed lorenzo leaning on the lockers talking to rue and jules looking at him through her glasses he looked pained with his eyebrows knitted together and frown on his face. She quickly turned her head and continued walking just as kat walked up beside her "what are you the unabomber?" kat asked jokingly "what are you a dominatrix?" she replied back

When i saw maddy walk in so covered up it mad me angry all over again and what made it worse was having to see nate walk the halls cause no i didn't beat him hard enough to put him in the hospital but i wish i had. i'm surprised he hasn't like told on me or something but i knew he wasn't gonna let it go cause unfortunately me and him did have a class together and when he walked in that day he looked directly at me with all the bruising on his face but i just rolled my eyes.

  it was the middle of class when i got called to the front office "fuck" i muttered under my breath. leaving the class i tried not to expect the worst that maybe nate did say something and i would have to deal with that shit, but getting there it was the opposite apparently the principal had been calling people in asking questions regarding maddy and the possibility of nate choking her. 

  "Mr zurzel i've called you in today regarding the events of the carnival involving ms.Perez and someone possibly choking her. do you know anything about this?" he asked placing his hands on his desk i really wanted to say something and just straight out say it but i also knew if i said anything maddy would hate me and i also knew if i said anything nate would still walk free. After hearing how his dad basically created this crappy town it seemed like a dead end plus i was still new and foreign and i wanted to get nate back in my own way so i just settled on saying "i don't know what your talking about sir." 

Walking out the office i turn and see nate's family his dad looked like he was gonna puke any second. looking away from them i see maddy and her family being held in another room taking it as she saw me walk in and out the principal office she gives me a questioning look sighing i go back to class.

It didn't take long for the police to come and get nate out of class. After this eventful day school was finally over and catching Junnie in the halls we walked out to the parking lot "i think i'm gonna try out for cheer" junnie said as we walked the the car "you should it would give you something to do" i told her nodding her head we walked the rest of the way in silence until i heard my name being called "Lorenzo!" turning around i see maddy walking to me at high speed "go ahead to the car june" i told i her as i turned to maddy "you didn't say anything did you?" she asked pointing her finger at me keeping her voice down "i didn't" i said looking her over "good" was all she said before she turned and left shaking my head i go get in my car "should i ask what that was?" junnie says curiously "nope" was all i said as we left the parking lot.

  Maddy wasn't doing well nate hadn't answered any of her calls for a couple days and she had gotten in an argument with her mom to say the least she was depressed. Getting in her car one night she just needed someone to talk to she tried calling kat but she just blew her off she felt completely alone till her phone got a notification from nate telling her to meet him at a motel she was about to do a u-turn and go see him till she got another notification.

Lorenzo: hey 

it was like the universe was telling her to make a choice and looking up from her phone contemplating while she sat in her car on the side of the road she made a choice she never thought she would 

Me: can we meet?

sending the text she anxiously waited on a reply that came as fast as the text was sent

Lorenzo: yeah want to come to mine but if not here we can go somewhere you want?

smiling a little which she hadn't done these past few days she replied back 

Me: no i'll come to yours just send the address
 
once he sent it she continued straight forward to his house.

Ok guys i hope you enjoyed this chapter i also put kinda of a message on maddy having to choose whether to respond to nate or lorenzo and having to turn around and go backwards to nate but instead she chose to look forward to the better choice of lorenzo and not look back 🥺🥺🥺 lorenzo + maddy= happiness
