Chapter 14: Who Says I Didnt?

They left once it was dark so they would have the cover of night to drop in on Batroc. Two pilots flew all of them in a quadjet along with a handful of specially trained SHIELD agents. They were headed somewhere in The Indian Ocean where Batroc was holding a SHIELD mobile satellite launch platform called The Lemurian Star for ransom. He was asking SHIELD for $1.5 billion in ransom money or else threatening to kill all crew as well as sell whatever intel was aboard the ship to the highest buyer. They also knew that Batroc had his hands on Wakandan vibranium technology, most likely using it to shield himself as well as his associates. It wasn't going to be easy. If they saw them coming they could use the tech to block everything they had to throw at them, so stealth was their best option. The plan was to get in and out unnoticed, take out the men, free the hostages, take control of the ship back, apprehend Batroc and finally, find out who the unknown buyer was that he and Klaue met with. Simple, just another mission. But Cara felt anxious. This was her chance to get back at Batroc and she wasn't going to screw it up. Sam's endless questions about she and Bucky weren't helping her anxiousness either.

"Even in the jungle? Just out there, on display, for anyone to happen by you?" Sam asked.

"Yep." Bucky said seriously, without a smile or a smirk.

"Damn... how many times a day have you two averaged?"

"Really Sam?" Nat asked looking at him disapprovingly.

"Sam!" Cara said at the same time, surprised.

"What! Ayo and Yama said the two of you fucked like rabbits, like all the damn time. I'm just curious!"

"Well you know what they say about the cats." Wanda said.

"Then it's a good thing I'm not a cat isn't it." Sam said back.

Cara and Bucky looked at each other. Cara rolled her eyes, the two of them having an entire conversation without saying a word. Bucky turned around looking at Sam grinning.

"Six."

"Six?! Like per day?? And you've been there close to a month- my god you two are superhuman."

"Super Soldiers." Cara And Bucky said at the same time.

One of the specialty agents approached them looking nervous. Bucky rolled his eyes, he didn't have much tolerance for inexperience, especially on missions like these. The agent noticed the look on his face making his cheeks redden, growing more uncomfortable. Cara tried to reassure him with a gentle smile but Nat pressed him.

"Any day now Agent." Nat said.

"Right sorry- first time. This is really cool by the way."

"Alright, alright, just take a deep breath and talk. We can take a group picture on the way back, hold hands, have a sing along- whatever."Sam said.

"Erm, here are your ear pieces." the Agent said offering them, "your comms are live so no need to press and hold-"

"Yes we know how comms work." Bucky said frustrated.

"Guys seriously? Just let him do his job." Cara said, now annoyed at all the interruptions.

The agent nodded at her as they all took ear pieces and put them in their ears.

"We're on approach." Another agent said.

The first agent spoke again, finding a little more confidence.

"So comms are live, we're all clear of mission directives, Bucky, Sam and Cara will be the first group to jump, then Natasha and Wanda will jump at drop point B with the other agents." The agent said opening the rear hatch, wind whipping.
